Thanks everybody! I've looked at Lodge before, I'll probably end up going with Lodge instead, it's a brand I know a lot of people trust! I've actually been debating getting a cast iron flat top too for my glasstop stove. :)

My wife works at a store that just got these in for Christmas, I only have 1 pan and would like to get a few more, would this set be any good? I think they're $24.99 for the set. Is preseasoned good or does it suck? Lol

The bacon stuck really bad to the pan, I had to scrape it off the bottom and those spots where it stuck were terribly sticky. After the bacon I fried a couple burgers in the pan, they got that nice crusty outside like you only get from a skillet like this or from a really nice restaurant grill

We’ve used our Lodge cast iron skillets more than anything. Also, +1 on the kitchen aid stand mixer. So many fun attachments and uses!

Be on the lookout at TJ Maxx for Lodge skillets. They frequently carry them in 8” sizes and in varying styles but lately they have been stocking some 12”, 13”, and today I found a 15” skillet for $30. They tend to have very good prices on their cookware. Home Goods is also a good place to look for them

15” Lodge Skillet At TJ Maxx

 Once it came to temperature, we turned it off and just let the pan sit in there until it cooled. The goal is to "burn off" the oil, so bring it past the smoking point until it gets dry and hard on the pan. That's what makes it coat well. We did this 3 or 4 times, but the more you use it the better nonstick surface you'll have

We use this pan for everything except eggs. We've had this one for quite a while now so I feel like i can give a longer term review. The biggest thing I don't like about this pan is that it didn't feel like it came sufficiently pre- seasoned, so we looked up some videos and instructions and did it. Now it feels like the more we use the pan the better it gets

 It'll rust. We just put it back on the stove with the burner on until it's dry. Easy. Keep in mind that cast iron doesn't exactly heat evenly, but it holds heat well

I love collecting Lodge cast iron. Everyone laughed at me when I got four of the smallest skillets until I threw them on the Lodge griddle and made perfect egg muffin sandwiches.

I didn’t *need* to buy this sandwich pan, but I kinda did. Lodge strikes again.

 Therefore, many hours of prepping were involved before I fried the first egg - that stuck. I knew I would need to season more aggressively due to the roughness of the cast iron. Do not expect a smooth, mirrored finish as comes on high end cast iron. This is more rustic

 After heating it to smoking on my stove, I applied olive oil sparingly then rubbed it in using a paper towel. I did this at least 20 times and the paper towel would shred due to the coarseness of the pan.

Compared to more expensive cast iron, LODGE is a bit rougher where pan texture is concerned. It advertises that it is pre-seasoned, but LODGE said it is NOT. Therefore, many hours of prepping were involved before I fried the first egg - that stuck. I knew I would need to season more aggressively due to the roughness of the cast iron

 My advice, buy it, before you even try to use it, get some bacon grease, smear it all around inside the skillet, add a little pepper if you truly like flavor in your fried foods, then bake it at 400° for 45 minutes or so, let it air cool on stove top before using. If you wash it after use, don't let it air dry, immediately put on the stove top on low heat and leave it until it's fully dried, that way the soap won't get into the seasoning. Every so often you'll need to re-season it. You can bake fantastic cornbread in this thing
