 Welcome to Two Hub Cycling Boutique, I'm Anthony and today we're going to go over the brand new Look 795 Blade RS Disc version. Let's check it out. The Look 795 Blade RS is Look's first rendition of using disc brakes, but not only did they add the disc brakes, they completely re-engineered their aerodynamics to create a much more adjustable position that's easier to set up, has cleaner lines, and is a much better ride overall together. I had a chance to ride the original 795, I can tell you the Blade RS is a completely different bike

 Following down the stem, as you can see, there's external routing that follows the contour of the stem with the aerodynamic cover, and what this does is this allows easy adjustability going up and down, or swapping out a longer stem, and keeps the clean lines and aerodynamics for this bike. Moving down the stem, as you can see there's a seamless integration between the frame and fork that creates a very clean line, and then look at this massive down tube. What I notice is that this adds a lot to the power acceleration and really smoothens out the ride. For 2019, Lip did away with their integrated crankset, Z is dead baby, and moved on to a BB386 Evo bottom bracket to allow compatibility with any other crankset on the market

There's improved handling, improved power transfer, and overall this bike is just competing for one of the best handling bikes out there in the world. One of our favorite features about this bike is the new integrated stem

 Starting at the front end of the stem, this stem will accommodate any 31.8 bar, so unlike other integrated bar stem combinations, this position is fully adjustable so you can use your favorite bar and you can get your optimal position that you'd like. The 795 BLADE RS cuts through the air, provides unmatched stiffness to weight ratio in the aero bikes category and it maintains traction where other bikes fail thanks to an innovative rear triangle design and large tire clearance. Rim brake and disc brake versions are available so that no matter which braking system the cyclist prefers there will be a 795 BLADE RS for him.

 But of course it's still an aero frame and you still find the aero features on it that you would expect. So let's start from the front of the bike. And the fork in particular. The fork legs are bowed out for better airflow, less turbulence around the wheel, but they're not super slim, I guess that's for improved handling

 Of course it's not really used with the SRAM eTap that is present on this bike. This stem though is compatible with any standard diameter road handlebar, but what we have now is Luke ADH aerodynamic handlebar with the flattened top section. Although this bar itself is pretty neat because it has these wide spaces, so it allows to mount basically any standard computer. So no proprietary designs needed here either, also very convenient

 And the fork in particular. The fork legs are bowed out for better airflow, less turbulence around the wheel, but they're not super slim, I guess that's for improved handling. Same goes for the head tube which has an hourglass shape, but again nothing radically narrow. The brakes as I said are rim brakes, but they're standard, centrally mounted, not even direct mount brakes, so where is the source? Pretty common, although with a slight aerodynamic penalty

 It uses some of the features of the old bike but it's very very different in other aspects. So let's start again at the front end. This bike still uses a proprietary aerodynamic stem that integrates with the front end of the bike but this time it's not completely flush with the top tube because that's more or less horizontal but it still uses the clever space arrangement so you have more options in terms of stack height adjustment and also cable routing. This bike can take mechanical and electronic driving systems where the cables are routed on the sides of the stem down into the head tube and to the rest of the frame

 So it's fairly adjustable in terms of fit. The front of the bike, particularly the fork, as you can see is heavily sculpted for aerodynamics. The legs themselves have kind of a cam tail profile to them and the bottom part of the fork integrates neatly into the down tube where it also meets the wheel hogging profile on the underside of the down tube for improved aerodynamics. Interestingly Luke don't use the latest direct mount version of the Ultegra brakes on this frame set, it's still the standard centrally mounted caliper but the braking action is extremely good partly thanks to the improved brake track on these Mavic wheels which is at least in the dry pretty damn impressive

But of course you can get this frame now with flat mount disc brake calipers so that's an even more modern option and then I guess you get better aerodynamics as well because this head tube area is a lot cleaner. Down to the lower regions of the frame, on the down tube like on many bikes nowadays you've got the Di2 junction box port, of course with eTap you would have a blanking plate here, the cables are naturally routed internally, this one is for the rear brake because it's at the rear and if you go down the down tube you can see the massive bottom rack area but you can also see standard Ultegra cranks
