The Duo’s strong suit also creates one of its downsides. Once unpacked, a mess of straps and flaps hang off the pad. In addition, the padding is cushier than the Organic Big Pad or Black Diamond Mondo above, with a tendency to grow softer over time. And finally, the nylon face fabric is much less durable than the competition, and the Duo is heavy for a full pad (although its beefy suspension is what makes for comfortable carrying). But we love the generous 5-inch dose of foam, and if you’re routinely toting multiple pads to boulder fields, the Mad Rock is a top performer.  Mad rock crash pads are generally top of the line, but for some reason the Duo seems to have missed the quality check. Poor stitching in multiple places that just does not live up to bar, unnaceptable for something that's going to be thrown through the ringer.

Great features, great pad, poor stitching.

This pad ticks the specific boxes that I was looking for. It is a larger pad but easily fits in the back of my car (Subaru Forester) without having the drop the seats, and it has a means of attaching a second pad. I go bouldering alone pretty often and being able to easily carry out more padding is a big consideration. Alternatively, when I go bouldering with others this pad fits nicely in the car packed with other pads, friends, and the dog

Overall this pad isn't my perfect pad, but the price was right and it fit what I wanted better than other pads on the market.

Good Idea - Poor Execution

Slight defect, but otherwise it is the perfect crash pad

Great bang for the buck compared to other pads at this size. Has solid build quality and the best carrying system for additional pads and gear. The only question is if the foam is a durable as the competition. Only time will tell! No regrets on my purchase!

 Convenience is only half of it as safety is the other. The velcro closure keep the pad from collapsing at the bend when falling on the hinge. The 3 layer foam also makes for a firm landing so ankles dont roll. The flap doubles as a cover for the straps as well so when shifting the pad, it doesnt get snagged

This is by far the most thoughtful bouldering pad ever conceived. The unique part of this pad is the features they incorporated from padded straps, daisy chain for carrying more pads, a water bottle holder, and more. Stomp on it

I’ve taken this pad out about 3? times since buying it and so far, so good! A bunch of us took some small falls on it on rocky ground with no issues, so it’s doing what it’s supposed to so far. My fave thing is that my smaller metolius pad fits right in the flap (or a backpack does!) without feeling super unwieldy or off balance. The foot mat is a nice bonus, and the pad works well as a couch at the crag too ;) the color is also unique so it’s easy to identify my pad amidst a stack of others. Great value for the price!
