As far as the compound goes, three C's so there's three different compounds of rubber in this tire that can get confusing but more or less you know why they did. that is they're trying to make the thing last a while so that you know the top knobs that are getting sort of the brunt of the the abuse are gonna last longer because there's a little bit harder bit of a compound and the corner knobs are gonna be nice and soft in order to give you the best traction when cornering. My god. The difference from standard tyres the bike comes with (WTB) to Maxxis Minion DHF even in the dry is ASTOUNDING. I think the pressure gauge has also helped because I know I'm running a good pressure but my god, the grip I now seem to have going into corners is insane. Why did I not upgrade the tyres sooner!?!?

 This tire as well as the matching rear DHRII 29x2.3 are by far the best dirt tire I’ve ever used. 5 star review is warranted but not given because of warm fuzzys. However, warm fuzzies aside these tires have more grip on the side wall then the stock giants did on their brand new tread

Less roll resistance at 50psi than the stock tires at 65psi. Off camber hard pack with gravel is a NON ISSUE with these tires

What shall I get instead? 29er or just 27.5?
