 Okay, so what you're looking at here is the unit itself It's encased right here into this bamboo box which also doubles as a repeater that extends the Bluetooth range on the unit and also is your charging block now they do recommend that if you Walk away, and you have your phone with you to carry this bamboo box with you It's going to make sure that you don't lose a signal So flipping over here before we take it out of the box you can see that This is it's got two magnets on either side here, so it allows you to actually put it on your grill Doesn't really work good on a Weber kettle or a Weber Smoky Mountain because of the roundness on there It won't stay on there But if you had something like a Weber Genesis or something it would work on there, so you just take this off It's pretty easy to pack on it because it also has magnets on this as well It's got a triple a battery in there, and now the battery life on this they claim That you can get at least to a hundred charges off of this battery And once it's fully charged the unit will stay charged for up to 24 hours So Bluetooth range on the meter plus is anywhere from 30 feet all the way to 165 feet I can tell you right now that the 165 feet is probably being a little conservative Because when I was doing a cook I was able to walk well over a hundred and sixty five feet Probably more like 200 feet before I lost signal right now what there's a little button right here on here And if you press that little button you'll see it has a green light that tells me right there that the meter is charged up Now it does take probably about four to six hours to charge this completely after it's been ran Completely dead to take it out all you do is just pick it up right here, and as soon as you do You'll see that this light will come on and it's blinking so that tells me right there that the meter is ready All we need to do is cut on the app all right, so here's you a little close-up here This is five point one inches in length with a zero point two inch diameter It's made of stainless steel and the black end here is made of ceramic this area right here This tip right here is going to be the ambient temperature So this thing is not only able to measure the ambient temperature But also the temperature of whatever it is you're cooking now one thing you need to keep in mind on this is this tip Right here most Thermometers measure the temperature by the very tip this The gauge is actually set further back about two millimeters back about right in here So keep that in mind when you're tipping and now if you look over here You'll see let me see if I can get you in here, but there's a line on here between my right in this area right here There's a line when you insert this into whatever it is You're cooking you want to make sure that you've inserted it Pass that line right there because what that does is it protects all the the wiring and everything that's inside this area So the internal temperature is good to temp things up to two hundred and twelve degrees Fahrenheit or a hundred degrees Celsius That may or may not be somewhat of a drawback like such as brisket. You just click on one of these set it to what you want and then hit the add button So I've tried this on several grills. I've never lost connection once and For the geeks out there that want to know if this penetrates cinder block walls, you know who you are And that grill right there is where I have the meter And we have not disconnected and yes Even if the cinder block has a cover on top of it, you don't lose connection this right here behind me is a cinder block And that is my garage. I went inside there and still never lost connection Give this cut see how we did All right Medium rare it is baby

 Oh yeah, baby. So you want to give it just about a little over, almost two inches roughly out the back for it, but just make sure you have it all the way in to that line. So now we're going to go ahead and get these on the grill and see how this does while we kick back and watch a football game. All right, so I'm inside now watching the game and kicking back and seeing how this meter pro does

 Again, it came out pretty good, so I would say that it was probably more of a medium than a medium-rare that I had it set up for on the steak, but the other steak that was thicker was actually perfect, so it's probably a little bit of the human error with the placement and fine-tuning and trying to get that part right there in the center as much as possible so you get an accurate reading for everything. So again, meter plus, it's a win, so it's got a 24-hour plus battery life, you can put it in the dishwasher, stay tuned to the end of the video and we'll see exactly how that goes and how it comes out for everything. A great app that keeps it really intuitive, it's basically, like, set it and forget it, it gives you the minutes until it's done, it tells you the internal temperature, it tells you the temperature of the grill, and I am a big fan, so it's the easiest meat thermometer that I've ever used and it's wireless, so that is a win. If you love them at the corner price that we get to test out every single week, just like the meter plus, website by which we can see hundreds of honest and fun product reviews on social media because what we do is we test stuff just like the meter plus and then we turn around and we give you a chance to win them every single week

 One of the things right up front that I did, I had it outside, I walked in, and it said that I lost connection. I was like, I'm only like 15 feet away, so what I did is I took this nice little bamboo box outside with it and put it near there, and it helped, I guess it helped bridge the gap because then I was able to go all throughout my house, watch the game without any connection issues, so that could be one of your tips and tricks right there. Currently I only have a thermapen MK4 which I love for its intended use. I am looking to expand my thermometer collection to include some sort of real-time monitoring and alarming. The two options I have narrowed it down to are the Thermoworks Signals and the Meater probe. 

I currently grill and smoke on a Weber Genesis and Kettle, although I plan to expand my grill selection in the future (offset, kamado). I lean towards the "buy once, cry once" side in terms of pricing and quality. So I'm alright forking out a bit more money up front for something that will last.

Just looking for opinions/ thoughts/experiences on both of possible. Or other recommendations if I missed any.

Thermoworks Signals vs Meater: Thoughts and opinions.

Test Thanksgiving run. Smoke @ 225 to 140. Wrap, tucked in the fridge tonight then tomorrow low and slow in oven to 165 turn up to 375 crisp skin. If results are what I hope for, will repeat on 20-22. Lb Natural bird from Earth Fare for Thanksgiving.

Best wifi meat thermometer? I recently bought the Meater and not overly happy with it. I feel like the ambient temp is too far off. I am looking for something with multiple connections and can monitor the grill temp and meat temp when not at home. Hoping to spend under $100

Preferably four probes, two grate and two cooking to start and possibly being able to purchase another cooking probe or two once I get my lid thermometer dialed in. I see a lot are either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. I was hoping to get something that has a smartphone app that I could still monitor my temps on the app and not have to be tied to a Bluetooth connection or on the same Wi-Fi network, essentially just using cell data, should I have to leave home while my meat is on. Budget wise I would like to come in under 100 dollars but I do understand this is a much needed investment. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Wireless Thermometer Suggestions

My gal bought me a meater + thermometer for Christmas and I'm planning on using it for a brisket this weekend. Is there anything I need to do to it before use as far as like hot and cold water. I can't think of the word I'm looking for. 
On another note does anyone injector your briskets? The first one I did was real dry and I'd like to prevent that. Someone also told me about putting a coffee mug full of water in the corner of my smoker.
