 And then in the end, we talk about which specific upgrades came in here for the Um for versus the 2019 Wide wheel. So first of all, who's it for? Look, if you've ridden rental scooters or you maybe have a Xiaomi at home and you're just not satisfied with the acceleration and the power. I think this is an overall great upgrade package to, you know, the rental scooter. It goes faster, It has much more acceleration, it will get you up any hill, and it comes out at a I mean for the package relatively reasonable price point of around thirteen hundred dollars

If you're buying this scooter, it's probably because you're looking for a scooter that goes super fast in a somewhat smaller package although it still is 56 pounds

There are only two scooters I strongly recommend against, the Mercane WideWheel and the Segway ES series. If you can find/afford a XiaoMi M365, it's a better unit. Next one up, Segway Max (G30). Unless the ES series scooters have changed significantly, they have insignificant/ineffective suspension and suffer from poor motor/controller interconnects

Ninebot E22 worth it for a first time scooter owner?

 The delay is only about half a second, but a throttle that engaged instantly would be nice and would really add to the fit and finish of this scooter, which is otherwise very high quality. One other disappointment with the wide wheel is the fact that it doesn't have regenerative braking. The wide wheel also doesn't come with a horn built in. For some this may not be a big deal, but For busy urban commuting, it would be nice to be able to make your presence known with a horn

 The first thing you will notice when riding the wide wheel is how fast and torquey it is. With a 48 volt, 15 amp hour battery feeding a 500 watt hub motor on each wheel, this thing pulls hard. It can reach its top speed of 26 miles per hour in just over eight and a half seconds. The large battery also allows this scooter to get an impressive claimed range of 18 to 20 miles traveling at top speed on flat ground and 30 plus miles of range if in Eco mode

 The only stopping mechanism on this scooter is the disc brakes on the front and rear wheel, and while they do the job very well, we would have liked to see regenerative braking on a scooter in this category. This brings us to the price. The Wide Wheel Pro is currently listed at 1 369 us dollars and can be bought exclusively through Fluid Free Ride in the Us. This is certainly not a Razer scooter for the kids

Did the job perfectly (estimated 2000km so far). 2. Mercane Widewheel 1000W dual motor - purchased to get around my country town and shits and giggles and saved me hauling the other scoot back and forward (estimated 3000km so far).

I have an ETWOW 2020, have about 60 miles on it now and I love it. Its a great commuter, nice and light and easy to get in and out of places, but part  of me wants something that goes faster that can be ridden even more aggressively..

I'm looking for an Escooter to go around downtown Montreal for my  commute. I was considering between either an Ebike and an Escooter since  its almost impossible to drive here. Is there any brand/model you guys  would suggest for around 1000$? 

I also got the feeling from lurking on this sub that Escooters don't  have the highest build quality. What kind of maintenance I can do to protect my scooters from excessive wear and tear through maintenance?

I am a grown ass man.  I'm 32, have a wife and kid, full-time job, etc.  I want to get an electric scooter, partially for fun, partially for practicality, and my wife thinks I'm being dumb, that I won't use it, and that it's a waste of money.  It's a bit discouraging, honestly.  Have you guys dealt with family being unsupportive or critical, and how have you handled it?  Also, here's a short list of very different scooters that all appeal to me, ant highly endorsed or that I should avoid?  Thanks.

Wife thinks I'm dumb for wanting a scooter

Definitely not the widewheel pro, it can only handle flat pavement. Anything else is atrocious and honestly dangerous for it.

I live in the Norwegian city of Trondheim, we faced a German occupation during World War 2 and our roads have yet to recover, the gas prices are also relatively high, to make matters worse, the roads in the city center are also highly restricted for cars.   


Therefore I've been looking into purchasing a scooter for commute to work, smaller grocery runs, and some occasional fun (On the rare occasions that the weather is not horrendous).   


However, I have in the past rode on some rental scooters, I believe they were based on the Ninebot G30, but might be some cheaper variant on the same platform. And while I did find it to be quite fun, it also didn't feel very comfortable, nor particularly safe.  
The roads in this city are very bumpy with a lot of random holes and areas where you are forced to transition on and off curbs, this resulted in a very unstable ride, I also noticed that they would lose a lot of speed when climbing hills.  


Therefore I am looking for an electric scooter that has adequate suspension where you feel like you still have control over the scooter when encountering a sudden bump in the road.  
Norwegian electric scooters are firmware limited to 20 KM/h by law so I won't be going at crazy speeds, but a stronger engine would certainly help maintain the top speed while climbing.   


The selection in Norway isn't particularly great, therefore I've compiled a list of the only scooters that I could actually consider purchasing.

Currently the Zero 9 and Widewheel Pro look like the most probable contenders for safe riding. Though both seem to have their own flaws, I've heard that the Ninebot G30D has excellent build quality and customer support, but if it is like the kind of electric scooters that rental companies offer, then it's probably not for me.  


I am primarily looking for shock absorption, powerful enough engine to maintain 20 KM/h at steep climbing angles, and sturdy construction (I will be doing quarterly tightening of screws, with the addition of loctite, so as long as the scooter is sturdy enough that it won't break on me with that level of maintenance, then it is acceptable.)
