 Now, other than that, honestly, it's a pretty minor update design-wise across the Surface lineup, if we're honest, not just the Pro 9. But the display here is 120 Hertz and it is adaptive, which is nice. I also noticed the battery life with just web browser, OneNote (inking and audio recording), and perhaps Adobe Acrobat drain the battery a lot sooner than expected. The machine is new and hardly used for anything but grad school stuff. I think I used it for two or three school day and it was dying.

So yeah, one of the most copied designs out there, but also one that hasn't changed a lot over the last year or two or so. But when you look at the evolution of the service devices from something with rather a small screen to this with a 13 inch display and one that went through a couple of days with all different pen technologies and it was great, then it was not so great, now it's actually very good again

 You just choose whether you want it. The SQ3 processors, Qualcomm ARM based processor, are the usual Intel processors. So yeah, and the design has evolved to be a little bit more curved around the edges and all that sort of thing.  So that's the big design changes that are going on here. The Refresher brings us Intel 12th generation CPUs. We have your choice of a Core i5 or Core i7, or again, the SQ3 processor, the latest evolution of ARM. I'll talk about them separately

 And now the power button is up top by the volume buttons instead of on the side, which I think many of us appreciate because this is something that you grab and you put in the bag holding on the sides and you always hit in the power button instead of waking the thing up. So no more of that. So that's the big design changes that are going on here. The Refresher brings us Intel 12th generation CPUs

The 2022 MS Surface Pro 9 Windows 2-in-1 tablet PC is now available in Intel and ARM (Qualcomm SQ3) versions. We look at the 12th gen Intel Core i7 model in this review. Regardless of processor, you get a 13” Pixel Sense IPS high resolution display supporting touch and pen, Wi-Fi 6E, and a connector for the Signature Type Cover. It still uses the Surface Connect for charging (though you can charge via USB-C), and Intel models have 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB-C on the SQ3). As ever, all but the Core i7 models are silent and fanless. It’s available in 4 colors. We look at the Surface Pro 9 and its pen as a tool for artists too.

I love this product

 The 13-inch display and the thin compact body design really makes this the perfect 2-in-1 portable laptop. I have been a fan of the Surface Pro design for a very long time. I love how sturdy the kickstand is and how the hinge mechanism maintains its sturdiness over the years. The quality on it is top tier

 I really like how Microsoft has improved the accessibility of the SSD storage, you no longer need a SIM tool to open it. You can now push on this divot here and it pops open. You will still need a screwdriver to swap out the SSD, but that is what it's all about, improving on the design so thumbs up for that. This is only the case with the Intel version, if you opt out for the ARM version, you will still need a SIM tool

So the Surface Pro 9 has moved the volume rocker and power buttons yet again, this time it changed them back to how the Surface Pro 7 had them, on the top left. This does prevent accidental presses on the power button when you pop the laptop open, so that is good

This is an in-depth look at the surface pro 9 after using it for 2 months. I have mainly been using this to surf the web, watch movies, and edit videos using adobe premiere pro.

The surface pro 9 offers a slight improvement over the surface pro 8. The more powerful intel 12th-gen chip does give you more raw power, but it still has a 

A big disappointment on this is that Microsoft went ahead and got rid of the headphone jack and didn't give us an extra USB c to take its place. It still only has 2 USB c ports. They did get moved to the left side and the surface connect charging port got moved slightly up which allows the surface slim pen to magnetically attach to it. 

I have been using this tablet to mainly edit my youtube shorts and Instagram reels when I am on the go and it has been doing a fabulous job. I have been editing the videos in 1080p since it struggles when I import a lot of 4K videos. 

I am not a big fan of the surface slime pen because it is just too thin and it doesn't feel comfortable for me to draw with for a long time. This is okay for quick sketches and taking down quick notes.

 And before I had a tech review channel here on YouTube, I was a fan first and foremost. Yep, that's me at the 2013 premiere of the Surface Pro device, that's the launch event in Las Vegas. So if I seem a little bit critical of the Surface Pro 9, it's because it comes from a place where I really love this device and I wanted to see it grow and get better, not because I want to bash Microsoft or the Surface team for that matter, I just wanted to put that out there. Okay let's start off with the design and build and I'm a big fan of the Surface Pro design over the years, it's gotten better and this is no exception

 It looks really good and it feels really good in the hands and it's really sturdy. It's really good in that regard. It's got new colors offered. I have the forest green on that Intel model, but if you get the one with the 5G, that only comes in the Platinum

 So if I seem a little bit critical of the Surface Pro 9, it's because it comes from a place where I really love this device and I wanted to see it grow and get better, not because I want to bash Microsoft or the Surface team for that matter, I just wanted to put that out there. Okay let's start off with the design and build and I'm a big fan of the Surface Pro design over the years, it's gotten better and this is no exception. Now this is pretty much the same form factor as we saw last year and one of the things is with the elimination of the Surface Pro X, they now have the same form factor whether you go with the ARM or the Intel, something to be aware of. Now the difference is of course one has a fan, one doesn't, we'll get into that later on but this all metal build is excellent in terms of the build quality, it's rock solid and the engineering done on the kickstand is first rate
