 The handle is an accident waiting to happen and the business side of the blade looked like someone had been striking flint rock with it. My $15 Mora HD had a better edge on it than this. If Mora is gonna demand top dollar for any future full tang knives they might want to step their game up on design and quality control. Im still a fan of Mora just not this particular model

I ordered the Mora Garberg and Bushcraft Black and I have to say when comparing quality vs price the Black, IMO, is the better buy. I paid $85+ at the time I ordered the Garberg and the Black was round about $35. The first thing I asked myself after I opened the Garberg and held it was, "Does this feel and look like a $80+ knife?" And the answer is "no", it doesnt. $50-$60 tops

 I used to agree with others, “Hey, it’s better steel, thicker, more sturdy, and you can even get more sheath options!”  Well… Yes, it’s thicker steel, but the increase in material doesn’t really justify such an increase in price. Yes, it’s full tang. See above. Same for it being longer

 With the Garberg, you don’t.  Back to the steel. I find it’s great for scandi grinds (I know, I know, the Garberg doesn’t have a true scandi grind, yada yada yada - more on that in a minute). This is a great steel for this style of grind (full scandi)

 Ask Fallkniven. Cheap handle scales and sheaths are also the biggest complaint about Kabar’s Becker series. They are saving a ton, and then sell you expensive micarta scales afterwards. But hey, at least you have the option

 This steel is not bad for a stainless in this regard. Why do you think custom knifemakers use O1 or basic carbon steel on their scandi models? Cheap steel for a $400+ knife? And you have to wait for over a year? There’s a reason. But I digress. This steel works for this knife

 Even mass produced micarta handle scales are much more expensive than plastic. Scandinavian cutlery companies kill two birds with one stone with these types of handles: 1) protect the hand from the cold steel on protruding tang edges in subarctic environments in winter and 2) save a boatload of cash. Ask Fallkniven. Cheap handle scales and sheaths are also the biggest complaint about Kabar’s Becker series

Good tool, but maybe a little overpriced.

 It isn’t the $15 versions. Maybe we have the bar too high for Mora in today’s giant global marketplace. This does not mean that we will no longer own Mora's. It means we will NOT purchase or gift their stainless 14C28N Sandvik blades

 I purchased the Morakniv Garberg Full Tang Fixed 14C28N Sandvik stainless AS A GIFT for my daughter last week, with the Molle variants. She opened the box, marveled at the balance, weight and size, but then gasped as the blade was damaged out of the box sold as new via Amazon. See the pics. To have this knife, that retails for more than $100, from Mora come out of the box damaged, and as a gift, has been sort of traumatic for us all

 Just one bad blade from the $100 line? Maybe. I doubt it for this line of products, but possible. My immediate family represents 27 users and 4 generations of Mora knife owners/users. None of us had felt compelled to purchase Mora’s full tang 14C28N Sandvik stainless up until last week when I chose it as a gift for my daughter as her specific applications would fit the reported knife’s characteristics – in her case a chance for 14C28N stainless instead of carbon

 From the experience documented above we do NOT recommend this knife OR Mora’s 14C28N Sandvik stainless for personal use OR gifting. Need more reason why? See below: The quick replacement sent to us by Amazon although did NOT have a hard bend/ding in the blade, IT TOO was slightly blemished (looks like not even buffed by the factory prior to boxing). Hazing, light scribes and horizontal lines grazed along the length of the stainless. It just didn’t have the fit and finish expected from Mora

 For me, I wanted more for my money. Second is the sheath, or it's more accurate to say 'pouch' because the knife is not accessible without unsnapping and opening it, and when you do, only about an inch of the handle is exposed, making it awkward for me to get out and then re-grip (as opposed to being fully holding the knife when it's drawn). Lastly, my personal preference is to have more of a bolster in a survival/bush knife. If I'm really using this for all kinds of crazy stuff, I need something between my fingers and this extremely sharp blade

 Here are the pros and cons, and the cons for me are mostly personal preference - a lot of people love this knife. I read a lot of reviews and watched glowing video reviews - but all those people got the knife from Mora for free. In the end, I don't think this is worth $100 (with leather sheath)  Pro's - obviously well built and durable, balanced, thick blade, no imperfections. Sharp right out of the box

Solid Knife - I returned it and here is why

I have read raving review after raving review and seen video after video about how "Awesome" the Mora Garberg is in either Sandvik stainless or High Carbon steel. When mine arrived, everything about the experience was a disappointment. The box is cheap, like a dollar store item from China. The knife itself feels cheap and the handle looks "cheap"

It feels machine stamped, and the handle (it is in fact injection molded), feels more like a cheap toy than a quality bushcraft tool

 It's literally the cheapest plastic piece of crap you could imagine. The joker knife comes with a nice leather sheath and for a fraction more, includes a Firesteel. I think that pretty well sums it up. I'll probably spring for a Companion HD for $23 bucks later on and make my own sheath just to have a Mora value blade in my lineup

 I know my review will be wildly unpopular and it may be because I am accustomed to owning quality knifes (Bark RIver (I've had 4 of them) , Survive GSO (from back in the day), Custom made (by me) Ray Mears clone, and many many high quality folders (GEC's, Boker Germany, Lionsteel, even SAK's...etc) so, I have a certain expectation as to the level of quality I personally enjoy and appreciate

.  The sheath body needs to hold the knife by itself at least as well as my other Moras. I'm carrying this one on my belt and have ambulatory problems.

 That's why my opinions and ratings are what they are...gonna have a real kydex sheath made to handle both

 The handle seems a bit small for me (XXL) and it is not very grippy like the other Mora knives. It is a basic handle shape that has no real stops to keep your hand from sliding forward toward the blade. They certainlly could have made the handle better. The end of the tang that sticks out of the handle has some sharp edges that actually dig into my hand if I grip it at the back
