Okay, I've never pretended not to be dumb, okay, y'all had to know that, right? I've never tried to pretend I was a genius, have I? Come on now, you know what I did, I realized, I'm gonna get to keep that off the primer. Oh well, don't worry about it, what I gotta do is get this rubber out, okay, duh, and I think I can do it. What I need to do is something, oh here's a screwdriver over here, I just need to push that shell, let it go through the magazine without, if I can do it, without putting too much pressure on the primer, well, maybe I'll not be able to do that, there we go, okay, so you see what I did, there we go, we got that shell up there out of the way, I forgot to take out the adapter, okay, and I think I can do it without it being the action open, but I don't want to scratch up somebody's gun here, you just, it's hard to get hold of without that open, so, but I'm not gonna be able, I don't want to release that shell, it's the only thing, I gotta keep that up there, there, that might be a nice compromise, there we go, okay, see, there we go, now we can load him up and shoot him, y'all wouldn't know how to act if I was too smart with you, if I did everything the right way, so, I did that on purpose, I just wanted to drive home the fact that you've gotta take that adapter out if you're gonna go back to standard shells, okay, so that was all part of an act, you know I wouldn't be that stupid, right, yeah, so y'all know that, that was just all part of an act, I wish, so, in my defense, when the camera's rolling, you guys are watching, you people are watching, it's harder to get things right, right, alright, what do we want to shoot the last shots on before we leave, let's, I just love that garbage can, to tell you the truth, let's pop in some more, so, I short-shocked it a little bit there, nothing like a garbage can, especially one, I feel kind of guilty, because he's like an old-time prisoner, he's got a chain on his leg, he's got a ball and chain, he can't get away, so we may just leave him there and shoot him again sometime, anyway, the Retro 590A1, pretty neat shotgun, and it might really suit your fancy a lot more so than the ugly polymer, yeah, I don't know, it's hard for me to decide, I don't know which one, if I didn't have one, which one I'd prefer, to tell you the truth, and like I say, I did have this gun in the 80s, so, it's sad when you live so long, this retro stuff comes out, and it's stuff you had, and I was doing volunteer work with the police department, and a lot of people think I was a cop, I was never a sworn cop, I did volunteer, and I would ride with them sometime during the 90s, and I would take this sometimes, we were supposed to bring a shotgun, ended up trading it to a regular deputy, a real deputy, a real cop, for a Benelli he had, yeah, and he really liked it, he really liked it, you know, I really didn't want to trade it, he was a great guy, and he liked this shotgun so much, and he just wanted it over the automatic, and he wanted to trade, I don't remember if I gave him any boot or what the deal was exactly, but I really liked it myself, but he liked it so much and wanted it so much, I just traded him, and so that's where that one went, and then I replaced it with the polymer one later, so, but yeah, I had this same gun, I just didn't have those sights though, so, the retro 590A1, glad you came out, and looked over my shoulder while I blew up some stuff, and proved that, yeah, my 87 IQ is pretty much where I am, right, life is good

 I have to say these sights, I've always wondered about the sight, I mean, they're fine, but the ghost ring on one of these, but I tell you what, you can go back and look through the videos of that other 590 with no sight except that bead front sight. And I really think if I had a shooting match contest here today with myself, this gun versus that one shooting slugs, now buckshot and stuff wouldn't matter, but shooting slugs over there on that hill and the stakes were high enough and somebody wanted to challenge me and give me a choice, I would take that one. I don't know what it is, I just, I'm having a little bit of trouble getting the sights on and the ghost ring, getting the front sight, the consistency of where my hold is. I guess on that one, there's not much trouble, it gets that little bitty bead and you know where to hold it

 Oh, slugs do the job, don't they? Yeah, I think I just am in the mood to start out long range. Despite the fact this gun has no sights, really. Let's reach on out. I have not shot at the gong with it, but I just have confidence where to hold

 You see we have some ammunition we're going to expend. This is the Mossberg 590A1. I had a 590 years ago, I think I may have told the story, and I really liked it. I used to compete with it in some side Ipsic matches with it and the Remington 870 as well as the Benelli

 And I think the A1 is just a few years old where they have the Parkerizing. It has the heavy walled barrel. Let me lay it down here so you can see it better. This one does have the heavy walled barrel

 And everything that matters is matched up steel to steel. The bolt locks up into steel, a barrel extension. So it's not like the alloy is really holding that much. The pressure is on steel

Shotguns for shtf

Hello all, 

My wife is wanting a shotgun for home defense, and seems to have her heart set on a bullpup.  We have an older house with narrow halls, so I can see that, but have absolutely no working knowledge of that type of firearm.  Could anyone recommend a few reputable companies that I could look at?  She'd be wanting a 12 gauge or 20 gauge minimum.  Personally, I have a 10mm carbine with multiple large mags, but she really wants a shotgun.  Any input would be greatly appreciated.
