 Also, one of my favorite Motorola features is peak screen on the Lock Street. If it's really dark you can see image, noise, and a lot of softness. In conditions where it's not super dark and nothing is moving, you can get an okay photo or two. That said, these are the best cameras on any Motorola phone I've tested

 The Ultra wide camera can for some reason only record at 1080p. Why? So you heard 8k and you probably got excited. 8k. That's a big number and that's more than some phones, right? But 8k video from the Edge Plus, as with the most Android phones, is just okay

That said, these are the best cameras on any Motorola phone I've tested. now. take a look at some of my favorite photos from the Edge Plus [Music] In terms of video, the main camera can record in 1080p at 30 or 60 frames per second, 4k, but only at 30 frames per second, and 8k at only 30 frames per second

 8k. That's a big number and that's more than some phones, right? But 8k video from the Edge Plus, as with the most Android phones, is just okay. I think 4k videos from the Edge Plus have better image quality, better dynamic range, and better stabilization stabilization test. In terms of how it compares to other phones, I took some photos with the Edge Plus as well as the Google Pixel 6 Pro and the Iphone 13 Pro

Motorola Edge Plus (2022) Review: There's a Lot to Like

 The phone has a sizable 5,000mAh battery with both 15-watt wired charging and the ability to provide 5 watts of juice to other gadgets via wireless power share. It’s rated just IP52 for water and dust resistance, however, so that’s one department where Motorola decided to cut costs. 

 Motorola believes its camera software features — auto night vision, dual capture mode, super slo-mo, and more — can help spark the creativity of Edge owners. The front-facing selfie camera uses a 32-megapixel sensor.

As for the camera, the Edge’s main sensor is a pixel-binned 50-megapixel camera (that produces 12MP files) with optical image stabilization and Motorola’s “all-instant” phase detection autofocus. There’s a 13MP ultrawide (that doubles as a macro camera) and a depth sensor; the latter always seems like wasted space to me, but it is what it is. Motorola believes its camera software features — auto night vision, dual capture mode, super slo-mo, and more — can help spark the creativity of Edge owners. The front-facing selfie camera uses a 32-megapixel sensor

 In some ways, it almost feels like Motorola is regressing at night unless I was standing directly next to multiple street lights. Photos were routinely soft and greeny, even with the phone's night vision mode turned on. and in darker environments, The Edge Pluses night mode managed to make a stained glass window look more like an impressionistic painting than an actual photo. I mean, what gives? in a lot of ways, The Edge Plus feels more like a mid-range phone with a couple premium features tacked on to make that price tag sting just a bit less

 Noticing the pattern here, that means there's no telephoto cam at all and forgive me if I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but that's another feature you got on the previous model. And to me, not having a dedicated zoom camera on a thousand dollar phone is a major omission. Just look at all the other phones in this price range from Apple, Samsung, whoever they all have one. But the most depressing thing about the Edge Pluses cameras is its low light photography

 Okay, let's start with the good stuff. First, the Edge Plus has a big 6.7 inch Oled screen that's punchy and colorful, and while peak brightness is only around 600 nits compared to over a thousand for the new S22s, the display still looks good, even in direct sunlight. On top of that, the Edge Plus the screen has 144 Hertz refresh rate, so scrolling through social media, flipping between apps and gaming looks super smooth

 Just look at all the other phones in this price range from Apple, Samsung, whoever they all have one. But the most depressing thing about the Edge Pluses cameras is its low light photography. In some ways, it almost feels like Motorola is regressing at night unless I was standing directly next to multiple street lights. Moto Edge+ (2022) review: Stuck between flagship and mid-range

Motorola stays in the game.

 So when it comes to video recording, it is about the same story. This phone can technically shoot an 8k at 30 frames per second, which is impressive, and it does a pretty good job with detail, but not so much with stabilization and audio recording. The three microphones of the Motorola struggle to eliminate outside noises, which is a bit of a bummer. Another con is the lack of a 4k 60fps video setting

 But all of these attempts have fallen flat Before this time. I was very hopeful when I found out Motorola is implementing a brand new 50 megapixel main camera and overall triple camera system. Well, unfortunately, my excitement vanished quite quickly when I got this phone. I don't mean to sound harsh because the 50 megapixel main camera is good and it does a pretty nice job when it comes to both daytime and nighttime photography, but it is the ultra wide sensor where the struggle is at Night Shots using the ultrawide camera often look blurry and out of focus and a bit grainy

 And interestingly, the third camera that we have here is a 2 megapixel depth sensor and I have no idea what it does. Don't get me wrong, I know what it is supposed to do, but I am sure that its contribution to the camera performance is so little that I think Motorola would have been better off just ditching it entirely and lowering the price of the phone or replacing it with an actually practical camera like a zoom lens. So when it comes to video recording, it is about the same story. "Ready for" this phone? It's is a PC, Media Hub, and Webcam - All in One

 One other thing to note, that iv come to notice from Motorola is that there software support is TERRIBLE. This phone may get 1 major os update, MAYBE 2 if your really lucky. Compared to Samsung and Google that's provided up to 4 major os updates to there phones.

Much better options out there.

 The camera is great but not as good as the Pixel 6 pro. I love the qi wireless charging they added. The battery lasts me a good 15 hours with heavy usage. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great phone
