 So how about cameras Lenovo Motorola Lenovo owns Motorola making a big deal about the camera quality on this you can see some focus hunting right here right now every so often is refocusing itself this is the lower end 13 megapixel model it just uses contrast focusing which is a contrast detection which is pretty much the standard lower end common but we're seeing more options now in higher end smartphones option so in good light like this and if it's doing HDR you get a little bit of a moment where it has to think about it it's pretty good if you're shooting in low light you'll see it hunt and have more problems so you just might miss a shot also if it's a windy day I noticed the difference it is pretty breezy right here and I was taking some shots outdoors of some flowers and you know by gosh I could really miss a shot with this one but the Moto G Plus with the added phase detection autofocus and laser autofocus it caught the shot every time the interface is pretty friendly pretty obvious here you got your flash control you have your HDR mode it's on auto right now if you hit the camera button down here oddly enough you might think that's a shutter button too but it's not you've got a variety of settings over here and you can even put it in expert mode if you want and it will show you the description with words if you don't know what it means if you happen to be holding it in portrait mode so I can control my white balance manually my color temperature the EV ISO all that sort of thing it's pretty well done it can shoot 1080p video at 30 frames per second as well it's got panorama mode it's a good camera and it's pretty intuitive to use it and if you want to swipe over and see the settings right there the basic ones basically shutter sound where you want to save the photos you get the full resolution at 4 by 3 aspect ratio if you go 16 by 9 widescreen you'll get a lower resolution and go down to about 9.7 megapixel that's not uncommon and if we swipe in this direction there it is we see the photos I've just taken let's take a couple look at a couple of the photos on the big screen of this XPS 15 and you so you can get an idea because everything looks great honestly on a small screen doesn't it so here we have a photo of our cute kitty taken in very low light indoors and this was with the G plus now I can see some white out of the fur here but it's actually captured an awful lot of detail it's it's a pretty darn good job let's zoom in really close on mr. whiskers here look at that that is that is nice that is nice for a camera phone now in contrast here's an outdoor shot on a fairly sunny day it look how the colors are kind of yellowish the camera does have an overly warm cast now you can adjust that in the photo editor of your choice in detail here is pretty pretty pretty crisp and this was actually taken with the G plus also so you got the full 16 megapixel for some detail over here you've got a little aliasing and smoothing going on of the jpeg image but overall it's just it's it's pretty decent now this actually came out very nice and this was taken with the regular moto G not the plus nice detail over here a good color rendition pretty sharp focus is fairly close as well here we can see white out problems with contrast and this was taken with the moto G non plus model as well but you're gonna have the same problem pretty much with the moto G plus we saw some white out there see I got a little too close with the camera here that's why this is out of focus in this price range this is one of the few phones that supports both cdma and gsm carriers for you us people cdma means sprint and verizon primarily and gsm is t-mobile and at&t of course it also works with the regional and smaller carriers and bno's which means little guys who piggyback off of the bigger guys networks that itself is pretty neat i'm not going to list all the lte bands there are a lot of lte cat 4 bands supported by this around oh 13 or so because i'm people are watching this from all over the world and there will be different models probably for different regions of the world so the bands will vary slightly suffice it to say wherever you live it should cover just about everything and it's unlocked so you can put any carrier sim in it you don't have to get it unlocked pretty nice carrier independence big easy to use a dialer here and we've tested this with t-mobile verizon and at&t sims in the united states and it worked just fine it already has configuration information in the phone so it self-configures you don't have to worry about putting in your data settings your mms settings any of that sort of stuff and data speeds were par for the course for each of those carriers networks so it did as well as carrier branded phones in that respect voice quality in the phone is good but not fantastic this is not a flagship phone and moto is reminding us of that everything is intelligible everything is clear on both ends but it sounds a little thin and a little bit tinny yeah so it's usable it's certainly usable it's just not kind of rich and full and nice in that respect so how about battery life here's where it's a good thing to have not have a super duper high resolution display and the snapdragon 617 being a upper mid-range cpu is not as demanding as something like the snapdragon 820 this 3000 milliamp battery which is sealed inside but not in the traditional way because we took the back off right here but here it is kind of permanently installed in the device that 3000 milliamp battery really lasts a long time with this phone it with heavy use it went a day and a half where I just kill any other phone by somewhere between dinner time and bedtime so that's that's good stuff there and with lighter use good knows you good lord knows you probably go three days on a charge with it so good battery life here and comes with motorola's turbocharger to the moto g plus comes with the turbocharger in the united states it seems the regular g4 also does but it seems to depend on country so no promises there the g plus will always get the turbocharger you may or may not with the regular g4 you might have to buy it separately again our u.s

Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus Review

 Great screen. Very little bloatware, another plus.  I like the fingerprint ID to wake up the phone, especially when I've been running and my fingers are sweaty. I still need to figure out why sometimes it also asks for my pin code, and sometimes it doesn't

No Notification Light!

 I was using I Mostly was chasing down Pokemon through the streets of Irvine, California So that said let's jump into the moto g-plus There is a regular non plus version as well that has a little bit of a spec downgrade in the camera and lack of fingerprint Sensor well if you're more information on that and a link down below if you want to check it out for the fourth gen Moto g Lenovo's brought moto maker here to the board And I'm saying Lenovo because they purchased Motorola a lot of questions asked about that in the comments available in two different versions Either 2 gigs of RAM and 16 gigs of storage or 4 gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of storage for either 249 or 399 respectively. We've got the 399 version right here With 4 gigs of RAM and the snapdragon 617 I expected performance to be pretty decent after all the 617 the same processor and HTC one eight nine. He really liked that phone when it came to just speed and seeing things move smoothly. I was a little disappointed But because I know you guys want benchmarks or it just didn't happen on in two two six dot one dot four I got forty seven thousand one eighty six and on quadrants I got twenty five thousand eight hundred and ninety one the five point five inch IPS LCD screen is 1080p And it's a fine display assuming you are indoors soon to take this thing outside You can almost barely see the screen especially in direct sunlight the plus version here gives you a better camera The rear-facing sensor is 60 megapixel with laser autofocus and an F 2

 It tones down the shadows and highlights and adds some extra vibrancy without making the shots look unnatural or fake. It's only in low light where this camera falls apart extremely quickly. We sort of expect shots to always show some noise in low light, but there's a significant amount of it on the G4 Plus.  Now as far as how much all of this is going to cost, Motorola hasn't provided exact pricing or availability for the US just yet, but if the pricing in India is any indication, you can probably expect the G4 Plus to be anywhere between $200 to $250. If it does end up costing that much, that's actually a pretty good deal. It's a big enough of a price difference from phones like the Nexus 5X and the OnePlus 3 to make it worth considering, especially if you're looking for a smartphone that offers some nice specs and features while staying below that $300 price tag. The Moto G has always been one of the best bang for your buck smartphones on the market, but it was sorely in need of some upgrades and the G4 Plus makes all the right changes to make it a compelling option in 2016

Moto G4 Plus Review!

 With light-to-moderate use, it gets a full 7am-10pm charge, the battery takes about 1.25 hours to charge from 0% to 100%.  DEAL BREAKING ISSUE: The phone recently started to have some major issues, it shuts off randomly when the battery is below about 60%. Let's say I'm at a concert, and I want to take a picture, if the phone is at 50%, as soon as I open either snapchat or the camera app, it just shuts off

 I've asked others about their fingerprint scanners on their phones such as iPhones and LG phones, and that issue isn't as common. Although, those are $600 devices.  Camera: The camera is OKAY. I couldn't imagine what the non plus model camera is like

5 inch 1080p IPS display, which we'll get to in a minute, is a fingerprint sensor. One of the first Moto devices with a fingerprint sensor. While I would have preferred the fingerprint sensor to be located on the backside of the device, because it's a bit more natural feeling and that's kind of what we're used to with a lot of other smartphones these days, it does actually work pretty well here on the front. Now it recognized our finger just about every time

 The Moto G4 Plus has plenty of features including panorama, slow motion, and even a manual mode, allowing photographers to adjust just about every aspect of the shot before actually taking the shot. This allows you to get the perfect shot the first time without having to retake it over and over. Now if you swipe in from the left, you get to your settings for the camera.  Even when I was driving the battery died and I had to find restaurant to charge it so I could continue using Google Map. Worse, the charging is really slow, 20 min you get about 18% charged! The phone also often gets very hot and you can just feel the heat burning through pant’s pocket. The Note 4 could last for at lest a day and a half when it was new. So I will drop my rating to 3 star from 4 star because of the poor battery life and charging time

 Overall I think it’s a great buy for the money and I will recommend it.  Addtional comment after using it for a month: For a phone with 4GB RAM, you expect fast start or shut off, however this phone is very slow, that’s quite surprising; When my Note 4 was new it was very fast to run apps and multi functions, and it has only 3 GB RAM, even now my old Note 4 is just about as fast as this Moto, so go figure why; I just made a long trip going northeast, and touring big cities with this Moto G4 Plus, part of the trip I rented a car and drove using Google Map on the phone. The biggest disappointment with the phone during the trip is the battery life.  The Note 4 could last for at lest a day and a half when it was new. So I will drop my rating to 3 star from 4 star because of the poor battery life and charging time.

Even when I was driving the battery died and I had to find restaurant to charge it so I could continue using Google Map. Worse, the charging is really slow, 20 min you get about 18% charged! The phone also often gets very hot and you can just feel the heat burning through pant’s pocket

 Their displays are bright and detailed, even in direct sunlight. They both performed well when it came to juggling multiple apps and loading complex games like Pokemon Go. Obviously, they're not as zippy as expensive flagships, but I rarely felt like they were slowing me down. The G4 Plus with 4GB of RAM was better at multitasking, but not noticeably so

 I'd recommend spending the extra $50 for the G4 Plus's better camera. The 64GB G4 Plus with 4GB of RAM that I tested sells for $299, but even that's a good deal. Motorola's big problem with these new phones is that last year's Moto G was simply too good. By aiming bigger, it introduced more compromises

I had some problems with the phone and wrote a review about it - I don't see it here anymore. Wonder what happened to it? Anyway, I had a problems with ghost touches making the screen go haywire when the device charges, and getting it to link with my computer. I wasn't able to resolve that. I also had a problem with it loosing its link with my sim card

Its a good phone overall, but it has flaws.
