 Obviously, we've discussed all of the features, but as always, it's kind of down to you whether you want to pay that or not. There are certainly a lot cheaper boards from MSI's own B660 lineup and I'm sure their competitors are going to offer similarly priced competitors as well. I don't have the prices to those boards. My recommendation is that if you have quite slow DDR4 memory, low capacity or whatever, and you just kind of want to jump whole hog into DDR5 land and Alder Lake, then this is an excellent board to go with

 This claims MSI will help provide more stable power delivery. The board, though, will work just fine with a single connector, as we've discussed in our i5-12400 coverage. The 80W, the load we managed to get the CPU to draw when running a tortuous average workload of rendering and other work simultaneously is going to be amply supplied by a single connector. But if your power supply does support the additional connector, it's a nice feature to have, I suppose

 I must say that I have found Older Lake rather fun to review, and quite frankly, for the testing, the LGA 1700 platform has turned out to be pretty impressive. Sticking with my opinions for the board, as that's what I'm predominantly reviewing in this video, I've not had any problems with the Mag B660. It's had no crashes, no strange behaviour and nothing hinky. Which, it doesn't sound like a big deal, but the number of boards that I've been sent or tested around launch window and they've been like, just really weird behaviour is, well, it's been a thing

 That does leave you a question, should you go with the DDR4 version of the board? I was given prices pretty much last minute that this board is going to be retailing UK prices. I don't have USD, unfortunately, but it's of course going to be converted to pretty much what you would expect. The GBP price is £210, that is including that. And yeah, this is of course a higher end premium mid-range board and there are additional layers on the board

 When you purchase this board, make sure you have the board wifi drivers and the I.O serial drivers ready to go as these are not plug in play. Without the I.O serial drives, some wonky things will transpire with sleep modes, even if you turn off sleep mode

 The wifi won't work unless you have the driver ready to go.  I had to use my phone to download the wifi drivers and then plug my phone into my computer to transfer them over. I think its about time for small USB flash drives with the drivers on them to be included in the motherboard box instead of CD's that literally nobody uses nor has CD drives these days.  The 3 out of 5 stars is due to just some really annoying things, even though this is one of the better B660 motherboards

 There will be CES coverage for this particular board. There will be a keynote from Intel as well, releasing this chipset, processors, et cetera. So we'll all be keeping an eye on that and see what the deal is and be looking out for these in the shops in the coming weeks. So again, there will be links for these in the video description below

 So it has got Wi-Fi built in, so we've got Wi-Fi 6 from Intel and also we've got Bluetooth 5.2. Other than that, we've got some other really cool features such as a 12 plus 1 plus 1 power delivery system. It's a dual rail system, so essentially they're kind of doubled up, but they are using 60 amp chokes, so it looks to be pretty good

 So this is obviously for DDR4 systems. If you're looking at a board for DDR5, there are other options available on the market, but this is for primarily DDR4 setups. So if you've got an older maybe AMD system and you've invested in some DDR4 RAM and you want to carry that through into your next setup, then this is a good choice. Obviously if you want to go for the DDR5 version, there will be those available as well

 We're looking at almost half a kilo of cooling capacity just in the heat sinks. So that gives you an idea of how heavy the board is overall, but we'll go through that and strip that a little bit later on. So this is obviously for DDR4 systems. If you're looking at a board for DDR5, there are other options available on the market, but this is for primarily DDR4 setups

 A lot of people out there who've wanted to switch to Intel's 12th gen platform have kind of been holding off because of the cost of the Z690 boards. They're very, very expensive, but this year at CES 2022, I can't believe it's 2022 already, what did the last two years go? Anyway, Intel is announcing the B660 chipset that is more budget-focused and more accessible, and today we're checking out our first B660 board. It's the MSI MAG B660 Mortar Wi-Fi DDR4. Wow, that's an absolute mouthful, but let's do our usual thing and take a bit of a closer look at this new board from MSI, but please remember ladies and gents with these videos, these videos are not reviews, they're just overviews so we can take a look at all the stuff on these boards and everything that comes in the box, but as you're about to find out, this B660 board is looking pretty feature-packed, so let's jump in and take a look

 It's got these new M.2 clamps that we saw with the Z690 boards as well, so you don't need to use screws. But let's unsheath the B660M Mortar Wifi DDR4 and take a bit of a closer look at all of the things on the board. In terms of rear IO you've got four USB 2

is there anything wrong with this pc. i want a good performance pc for 1250 that will last me long.

 Unfortunately this board (MSI Pro B660M-A ddr4) does not have the capability to update the BIOS without a functioning cpu. I returned the board for a MSI Pro z690-A DDR4 which has a bios Flash button on the IO plate to enable a new bios that will recognize 13 gen processors

 Then I checked the MSI web site and the 13th gen bios was released in july. Also the i3-12100 bios was released in March so this board likely would not work for that processor either. Unfortunately this board (MSI Pro B660M-A ddr4) does not have the capability to update the BIOS without a functioning cpu.  Go with the heat sink or go with the quick release tab. For me, I'd rather have a heat sink on my M.2 than a quick release tab considering I'm only going to install it once. So why even give us these screws? The motherboard looks really nice and can fit pretty much any aesthetic you want

 It's got two big heatsinks here for M.2 drives, and then it's got a massive heatsink on the chipset itself. Very very heavy board, but you can tell it's high build quality as well. Taking a look at the board itself, let's start off with the bottom here
