The gain is pretty cool in this because it doesn’t actually change the volume, so you can crank it up to get those sweet sweet sustains without blowing your ears off. Joyo Dyna Comp. A Ross-style compressor which is a clone of the MXR Dyna Comp. The attack knob seems useless, but it adds that sweet mildly crushed compression, perfect as a topper to your drive.

I started off with the warden as I saw it on quite a few pedalboards and heard good things and while I think it functions as a good always on compressor, sometimes I really want that ultra squashed compressed sound inspired a lot by tame impala, which is why I now have the mxr dyna comp. Having the dyna comp after reverb and it sounds super dope, kind of what I like to listen to and play around with, even if I don't play tame impala tunes.

The Dyna Comp Deluxe is less noisy than a regular Dyna Comp. Some compressors have a blend knob that lets you mix in your clean signal. A lot of people like this and find it a useful addition. Compressors can have a certain sound to them.

Swapped out my Dyna Comp with the Keeley Compressor Pro today and it’s exactly what I was looking for - clean compression without the squish and tone coloration. Was finding that the Dyna Comp was putting a little too much grit on my tone and was especially noticeable with modulation. The Keeley sounds amazing, can do the squish but can also just sound like a super clean studio compressor.
