 I'm using the control output, and I've set that little switch to audio so I could just use that jack to go straight to another amplifier. There we go. There we go. And let's try those swirling sounds of the harmonic tremolo in stereo set to a very slow speed

The newish MXR Tremolo M305 is awesome.  The harmonic tremolo tone is great, square wave and sawtooth are both really choppy. Can take an expression pedal, has an envelope mode and can go stereo too.

Need recommendations on a tremolo that combines the best features of these

 I'd rather have one knob to control the wave between sine and square, with a toggle between optical and harmonic (or something like that). Unless you're a serious tremolo nut, four of the modes sound basically the same, with harmonic and square sounding different. I also hate that the power jack is on the side, makes Tetris on my board really awkward. I'd rather have a different way of choosing between modes, rather than having to cycle down a menu

If I were to go back in time I would have spent a bit more for the JHS Kodiak, which also has a second switch for tap.

It's good. Some caveats. Slightly unnecessary.

 The core of any tremolo is the shape of the waveform, and this pedal has six different waveforms that all sound really good. There's lots of ways to control the waveforms too, but it's not complicated. The controls are clear, intuitive, and effective. In short, the MXR tremolo makes a lot of great sounds that are easy to control

 There's a small switch next to it, so move that switch to the right, labeled audio, and the CTR jack is the stereo output, in case you don't want to connect with TRS. In stereo, the signal ping-pongs side-to-side. With the switch in the left position, the CTR jack becomes either a tap tempo or expression pedal input. With an expression pedal, you can set the minimum and maximum speed and depth settings and blend from one setting to the other

 The input and output jack are both TRS and can be used for stereo connections. There's also a third connection, labeled CTR, that's multifunction. There's a small switch next to it, so move that switch to the right, labeled audio, and the CTR jack is the stereo output, in case you don't want to connect with TRS. In stereo, the signal ping-pongs side-to-side

Great Tremolo

 It's a great sounding tremolo pedal, stereo tremolo. This pedal recreates that sound, but it gives you six different types of tremolo waveforms in one pedal. It's really taken it to the next level. What do we have here as far as controls go? We get speed, we get depth, and we get a gain control, which is really nice because sometimes when you turn on a tremolo, it can seem like the level drops a little bit

 Except for the square wave, I'm going to show you what that sounds like with the depth cranked up real high so you can really hear it. Also, I want to show you, this is with the envelope sensitivity switched in, and it's real dependent on both the guitar volume, the output of your pickups, as well as if you're running any gain boxes in front of it and how hard you're hitting it. So with the volume on my guitar about halfway up on five, here's the square wave tremolo with the envelope switched in. Okay so you can hear it's real good and choppy

And then if I hit a gain box in front, even hit the pedal with more gain, it goes even faster

 This output is actually stereo if you want it to be. It can be a TRS output, so in other words, you plug in a TRS jack there, splits out to a left and right, and you could go to two different amplifiers if you want. That's really cool. The second jack here, this is switchable between a few different functions

Has several modes to get "the" effect you are looking for. It can go super subtle to completely choppy.

Versatility

But it doesn’t have three modes, it has a set of simple, interactive controls that blend between these effects. Because of that, I love it. I’m not a big phaser or filter guy, but this pedal brings that love out of me. For tremolo it’s unique, and can be lush or thin or subtle

Here are my thoughts. 

**- Monument:** The harmonic tremolo is very musical, it can also do the standard tremolo and the wave selector makes it super versatile. Tap tempo is practical and the graphic is awesome. To me this is one of the best tremolo on the market. 

**- Night Wire:** The harmonic tremolo is less nice, it always has a basic phase/vibe tone to it. It's nice to be able to use it as a phaser or vibe, but I was not so impressed.

**- Hummingbird:** I like to hard chops my fuzz and this bad bird does not dissapoint. It's a one trick pony, but it's so much fun
