So, these are the systems that I have "narrowed" it down to. 

Mostly TV/movies but some music and gaming. TV is a Sony Bravia XR A80J. Room is pretty big with ceilings that are around 10 feet tall.

I don't want to say price isn't an option, but want to get quality. At this point I think I have analysis paralysis.

Not that I want to add any additional systems into the mix, but is there another that I should be looking at (Sennheiser AMBEO?)

 If considering a redesign for a future model, Nakamichi should consider not making the sound bar that tall and maybe come up with a flatter design.  5 – FUTURE USAGE (3 Stars) I wrote this review after watching the movie “Judas and the Black Messiah” that has Dolby Atmos sound and is a recently released movie. As of today (Feb 21), the sound from the rear satellite speakers was still intermittent and not constant in various occasions of the movie. I wish this was not the case and that I could simply enjoy of constant Dolby Atmos sound

 Other content, other than Atmos (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc.) works pretty well and sound quality is very good. I also tested the Bluetooth mode which I am not a big fan of since it basically utilizes the soundbar and it does not take good advantage of the other satellite 4 speakers. Initially I connected a PlayStation and a cable box to the HDMI ports of the soundbar but later decided to connect these devices directly to the TV because I had to turn on the sound system every single time, I wanted to use the connected devices but there were occasions when I did not want to use the sound system

 All cables needed to make the sound system work are included. It also provides links and references to online resources. Nakamichi has nothing to envy from larger companies/brands on this topic. Well done!!!  2 – SETUP (3 Stars) I am reviewing this based on the expectations from must people that expect to have a Plug & Play system that will work flawlessly out of the box

 Upon further research, I discovered that the sound system required a firmware update (which requires to have or purchase an USB drive with certain specifications) to troubleshoot this issue and potentially resolve it. Then, made the update but issues kept going. Then, realized that I had to activate a new “dedicated frequency” mode that was supposed to resolve the issue. It certainly helped but was still affecting the Wi-Fi home network

Very good for the price but it could be better – not plug & play

4, it's Dolby Atmos and is only $1399.  Super cheap if you can't afford to do a real system. I like it because it comes with 2 10inch Subs.

Best Soundbar for LG G1

  The problem I have is that my living space is 'offset'. The TV and sofa sit offset in the room, not in the center, and it is an open-living concept space which does not allow the rear and surround speakers to be equally spaced away from the listener. The left speaker set is much closer and in a corner area. The right speaker has to be about three times as far as the left speaker set and along a flat wall, not in a corner

 This could be easily compensated for if Nakamichi had designed the system where left and right volumes could be set up independently. Sadly, the rear speakers' volume can only be set with a fixed level for both so it is impossible to balance the speakers based on the difference in distance from the listener. This is very frustrating and almost makes the system useless for Atmos.  I will try to compensate for this myself by buying a cabinet to place along that wall to 'corner' the right speaker set and hopefully this will reflect enough sound back to me to make it a better surround setup

 The left set works excellent and I can hear the surround effects on the left side very well. The right side, not very well at all. Very nice but not 'great'

  Dual subs, with sides and rears.  I feel like I’m in a theater.  And for less than $1500.

We all seem to agree that rear speakers are well worth it.  I recommend the Nakamichi Shockwafe 9.2.4

Do I Need Rear Speakers

 I mostly watch movies after my small children go to bed. So that’s not in the cards for me. The system is mot wireless. You need to connect the rear surrounds to the subs for signal and power

4. Ultimately I valued the extra rear surrounds, and so after a special offer during Black Friday, I went for it. The bass from the dual subs is tunable, so you don’t have to be overwhelmed by bass, but still get the room filling stereo effect, from the dual subs, with out shaking the house off the foundation. Now if you want earthquake shaking, I have no doubt you can achieve that too

 My unit came with the current firmware already loaded in the thumb drive, I only needed to load it. No need for downloading anything, or writing a review in advance. The system really came alive with the update. The rear surrounds really started going their job

 It happens more with something content than others. I also noticed surround sound is much better from blueray than streaming. Even when comparing HDX streaming. Not sure why that is

Everyone that's heard the Yamaha 5600 &amp; the Ambeo, which sounds better?

2.4 for about a month now. A lot of stuff inside that box. The system goes together relatively easy, in reality the toughest part is where and how do you want to set the satellite and rear speakers to hide or minimize the wires

 One thing I noticed immediately was the dialogue, whether it be movies, shows, or news and sporting events. It is clear, rather it is exceptionally clear. Not muddled like many. You can actually hear what is being said in the movies

I finally got frustrated enough to try and remedy it when the last Sony TV Android update stopped turning off the soundbar when I sleep my AppleTV. Soundbar stays on and it keeps the TV on because of it. 

I purchased it around this time last year so it had a shipping firmware that was likely 18 months old or so. 

Current firmware they sent me 32.27 seems to have fixed the audio gap on pause issue at least.

Anker.bin firmware file dated 2020-05-14

Still trying to sort why the TV no longer turns off along with the soundbar however. I’ve tried power-cycling all the things together and everything is the latest firmware now. 

You’ll have to email support to get the firmware and you’ll need the remote control to activate the update mode with a fat32 formatted USB drive with the anker.bin file in an UPG folder.

Infini Pro Firmware Update

 Other than that, I have nothing but praise for this thing. It can get incredibly loud, but it's also high quality at low volumes. The surround effects on some movies/shows are incredible. My pets and I have been startled by a sudden plane flying overhead or a bird squawking from a side speaker

 The directions are very clear as far as installation and how to set each of the features (of which there are many!!). There was a new firmware update which was a slight hassle to perform although the directions on the Nakamichi website were clear and it wasn't very difficult. The annoying part is that you need a USB drive to download the file onto and then plug the USB drive into the soundbar itself to install the update. Not difficult, but I had to go and buy a USB drive which I don't think you should have to do after buying such an expensive piece of equipment

Pros:  Easy to install and use Fantastic remote control Lots of customization/features Solid construction Great sound, especially with Dolby Atmos  Cons: No possibility for component upgrades Firmware update required - slight hassle  After a lot of research into home theater options, I decided to go with the NAKAMICHI because it had great reviews and was on sale for about $1200 I believe.
