Nalgene is the way. Their replacement policy is fantastic and it’s a $12water bottle so you aren’t dropping a lot of cash. If you want 64 oz buy 2 freeze one half full and you can have cold water longer if that’s important to you. Toss on a neoprene sleeve as an insulator for sweating

I'm considering water bottle options that I hope will last me at least a decade, and I have a few general criteria.

**Volume**: I'd prefer something at least 32 oz but preferably closer to 64. Maybe this is unreasonable. I just don't want to refill it all the time. Fill it once at the beginning of each day and sip throughout, preferably. I want something that I can use without having to come back to a source of water all the time, whether that be for a typical day of college, a long hike, a camping trip, etc.

**Size / Shape**: I want something manageable, ideally that I could grasp onto well with one (decently large) hand. Fitting in a cupholder would be nice, but with the volume I want, I get if that's impossible.

**Material**: Metal or plastic, I guess. The plastic option is Nalgene, and the metal one is everything else, leaning toward Klean Kanteen. I like Nalgene water bottles, their durability and look and low weight and see-throughness, but metal water bottles keep liquids insulated while not sweating. Especially the weight on metal bottles seems like a major downside, but idk. Give me more input on this.

**Extra Features**: I'm not aware of many extra features besides insulation, specific to metal bottles like hydroflasks or klean kanteen. I don't care about a bottle filter, and I don't want a straw going down the bottle at all. What are some things I should be aware of?

 One to hold the bottle to your mother and the other to hold the lid away from your face.

However.  It's too big for the cup-holder of my car.  It's also a little large for my hands.  The wide mouth that is good for easy filling, means ice can crash your face if you're not careful (so maybe don't use ice)

This is a very nice and sturdy water bottle.  It holds a liter and has a wide mouth for easy filling.  It's not too tall so it fits nicely on the top rack of the dishwasher and it is dishwasher-safe.

I love these water bottles and have about a dozen of them, but I especially this color because it's light enough for me to see how full they are easily. The wide mouth allows me to add ice if I choose as well as making it easier to refill the bottles. These are just the right size so that I can stay hydrated, but not so big that the water is warm before I can drink it all. Easy to care for, just toss it into the dishwasher on either rack and the strap on the lid both helps keep the lid attached as well as providing a convenient way to carry the bottle

Best water bottle around

This Nalgene ultralite wide-mouth water bottle is perfect!  Thein store price was very reasonable-to-cheap.  It is extremely practical, and that is a very important word to me when I decide what to get and bring with me on the trail.  It is not too hard, as in to run the risk of cracking if I dropped it or fell on it (like other colored one, that are more expensive).  It can also be used as a lantern when you put your headlamp around it while full of water

This is truly the best water bottle!!   It’s tough.  I’ve dropped it too many times already, lol and it hasn’t cracked!   The screw on lid doesn’t leak and is easy to open and close.   Thank goodness it is attached so it hands free.  Washes great in the top rack of the dishwasher
