Nature Hike, it's actually not that bad. [Music] Hey everyone Steven here with my live outdoors so backpacking gear can get really expensive and I constantly have people asking me if I can recommend some more affordable alternatives to some of the expensive gear that I own. With that in mind, I've been looking at some affordable gear that anyone can afford, but not just a Ford gear that you can also trust. And that's when I came across Nature Hike and The Cloud Up too and I reached out to them to see if they would send me one of their tents to review and to test to see if it could actually hold up to the type of backpacking that I like to do so

 Generally the less attempt weighs, the more that it costs. But this tent is fairly lightweight at 3.4 pounds. Now, it's hard to find backpacking tents, especially affordable tents that weigh less than four pounds

 And the other thing is there are no mesh pockets on the inside except for one in the roof, and I find these mesh pockets to be actually really helpful to keep my glasses in so that I don't step on them or other things that I don't want to get broken or lost on the floor of the tent. The pocket is just a really good option for that, and the pocket on the roof is good for putting a headlamp in to give you a little bit more light, but I don't really like putting other stuff in there because I feel like it's going to fall out. Okay, so that is my list of pros and cons for the cloud up too. All in all, I think this is a really good option at a reasonable price

 So even though there are more reputable companies making tents at this price point, those tents are not at this weight. So weight to price ratio, it's hard to beat this tent rain. But can the cloud up perform? I mean weight to price ratio is great, but it doesn't matter if it can't perform. And so one of the main areas that I want to tend to be able to perform in is the rain

I have been wanting to get myself a 2 person tent for solo trips (and the occasional trip with my GF) for a while now. 

In terms of criteria: 

1. My budget is somewhere in the region of £200 - £400 ($280 - $560)... but I would be happy to fork out a bit extra if it is well worth the difference. Also worth nothing that import duty to the UK is pretty brutal so ordering from overseas would require a slightly lower budget.
2. The lighter the total weight, the better - something at or below the 1.6kg (3.5lbs) mark would be really ideal, as I do plan to take it out on solo trips and would like to save weight anywhere I can. However, I would still want something pretty weather proof so that I could stay warm and dry through windy and rainy nights.
3.  I am 6'4 and typically take a 48L pack with me, so an interior length of at least 215cm would be wanted, as well as room within vestibule(s) for backpacks incase there is rain throughout the night or something

I have tried out my friends MSR Elixir 2, although this tent is a little short for length and a bit on the heavier side.

I really like the looks of the Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2, although the tent + footprint comes in at a bit above my budget. 

I would love a Durston X-Mid 2 but these aren’t likely to be available until Fall 2021, and I’m really keen to get some backpacking done between now and then. 

I’d really appreciate any help and/or opinions on some other options. I have scoured a few websites now but cannot find much in the way of valuable reviews or user experience! TIA

Lightweight 2P Tents - Looking for suggestions

The 2 person is good for 1 person only

 I generally spend a bit of time picking a spot to pitch the tent into the prevailing wind and behind a windbreak. There is usually some small ridge or hummock to break the wind a bit.

Hey guys I'm from New Zealand and I'm trying to find a tent that suits our conditions. It's got to fit me (178cm) and my dog(35kg).
 Most of my hiking involved taking a rifle with me to find some meat to take home so I spend time in the bush as well as above the bush line. So finding a tent to hold up to gusts of wind  up high and sandflys when in the bush. I think free standing makes life a little easier too. Am I asking too much of an ultralight tent? Any suggestions?

Legit tent for the price, but will inevitably rip and break

Looking for a tent around $200.  Likely a 2 person 3 season tent....I will be camping in it from Temps near freezing through the summer heat.   

-less than 4.5lbs
-good in the rain
- without use of trekking poles to setup
- big enough for myself (5'8" 200lbs) and a duffle bag/backpack of gear

Well rounded Budget tent

2p tent review: Definitely not 3 season

Invest in a Thermarest Xtherm and a good down sleeping bad rated for the temperature you're at and you won't even need a tent around you to stay warm.

 I am looking for a budget tent for rare winter camping trips (up to -15C / 14F, forest zone) . Can't find anything  applicable from Chinese brands (. I have Hubba NX Solo. It so cold in winter conditions...  


 Primary requirements:

\- 1 person or 2 person  (solo is better)  
\- Light weight  &lt;2.0 kg ( 4.41 pound )  
\- Freestanding  
\- Low budget &lt;300$  
\- The **SMALLEST amount of mesh  fabri**c or **SNOW SKIRT**.   The design of the tent should block cold winds and prevent additional heat lost.    
\- Should be suitable for a person with a **bit longer than average height**  1.87m ( 6' 2" )  
\- Availability in neutral colors  (white, gray etc,)  


 Maybe I'm asking too much?  I like the BA Copper Spur "EX", but it's so expensive :(. Chinese NH's VIK1 has  very doubtful  1-layer construction and too short for 6' 2" person...  
 What moderately budget brands (besides Chinese ones) produce such tents?

Budget winter (4-season) freestanding tent?

Lightweight for the price, and includes the footprint, but feels small inside compared to other 2 man tents I've used even with smaller actual size due to the angles. Snow skirt helped with the drafts a little, but wasn't able to get anything like a complete block of the wind.
