With these units she hits roughly 10-12 Megabytes per second download speeds. Not as fast as the speeds the other PC's hit via hard ethernet cable but respectable.  Speed test wise, She hits about 90Mb/s down and 80Mb/s up

 To get my old speeds back, I needed a hard ethernet line to my computer. So, like any other American, I sought out the easiest, laziest way to do that. Powerline adapters promised to be exactly that.  I purchased the 2000mbps model which, if you haven't researched how powerline adapters work, equates to a shared maximum of 1000gbps up/down for all connected devices, assuming there's no electrical interference or resistance from your electrical panel

 In other words, in an optimal environment, if 2 devices are sending/receiving data at the same time on the powerline network, the maximum speeds either device will be able to achieve is 500mbps up/down.  The manufacturer also warns that "old" electrical wiring does not possess high enough bandwidth to yield high speeds, which I was aware of going into this purchase. What I wasn't aware of, and which is still not clear to me, is what the definition of old wiring is.  My assumption was that they must be referring to knob-and-tube wiring and other obsolete wiring standards

 My home was built in 1987, which meets the standard for the current electrical code in my state, and I have 1gbps fios internet. After setting up the powerline adapter, the maximum speed I was achieving was 100mbps up/down -- 1/10th of the speed the powerline adapter is capable of and 1/20th the speed it advertises.

 Moreover, one of the circuits had a lot of noise on the line due to appliances on that circuit. I could’ve bought filters to plug into the appliances in order to clean up the circuits, but I found using a different technology was easier and cheaper (MOCA via CATV cables).  These devices worked fine, I just was able to achieve greater throughput using the MOCA devices and therefore felt these did not best serve my purposes.  As with any engineering application one must weigh carefully the advantages and disadvantages in the use case under consideration

They are decent but not perfect

.. when the Plug LED turns solid green, it indicates that you have the "best" connection speed possible which is anything over 80Mbps. when the bar for 'best' is 80, hitting 1200 (1000, really) seems absurd

That said, they do work - I observed about 90Mbps down and 20Mbps up and the latency is much better than running the PC off of WIFI (my wireless access point is in the basement and I have a PC upstairs that needs to get online.

 And when this happens, getting the network back up and running again is a baffling chore made incredibly tedious by the total lack of feedback and singular button to press. Why did the network stop working? The devices CLAIM to all be talking to each other, so why do the attached computers disagree? Has the encryption failed? Have I reset away the encryption? These are all questions you will discover you have no way to answer as you just try resetting them over and over again hoping the network returns.

While Working, Great.  But They Forget How Sometimes

I suspect this was returned, and resold as new. First of all, no shrink wrap around the box, impling it was opened before. Stated below is more evidence.  My units were not plug and play as the instructions said
