Gift/start up for my 17yo daughter recommendations

 Without the update the sound is not very good. If youre updating the EQ and you have trouble you might need to try different microUSB cords. Note: an analog to aux cord is not included, but do not use one. Youll get an audible hiss over analog that isnt present with bluetooth

 This honestly isnt extremely surprising but the lack of a way to address it is the largest downside.  If youre buying this at 120$ its a bargain, at 150$ without an option for subwoofer out, id say consider an option with a subwoofer out if you care about bass. Bass is present but its a bit lackluster so keep that in mind

Ive used this set of speakers for a week now for my desktop and the clarity is very good in the mid and high range once you update the EQ. Without the update the sound is not very good. College rn and I did research and found out that a lot of people hate on Logitech speakers but I want some small footprint studio monitors for multimedia, I am currently looking at the presonus Eros 3.5 and the rb980t I was wanting to get the 1280bt but I feel like they are going to be very big. Best Desktop Speakers/Studio Monitors

So I had got the presonus eris 3.5 which wasn't bad but as a beat maker I needed a bit more umph on the bass and it did jus that! I never had any high end pair of monitors like the Yamaha to compare but it doesn't matter, as long as you know how it's suppose to sound it's a win=win situation for me as far far as price and quality(flat response)  Pros: Price, flat response for accurate mix (after updating it and stuffing ports), well built, because it has face front ports you can put them close to a wall. Cons: because of face front ports it can over power the mids a little bit but if you plug them up you should be fine, no TRS or XLR output, comes with a small but bulky AC adapter, has a little hissing noise if it's quite.

The longer version is... Use is playing music while cooking during the week and while quietly reading at weekends. It'll probably sit on the counter or a cabinet in the corner. The room is something like 25' x 12'. I'm sort of attached to the look/form factor of the old midi/micro stereo systems. Needs stereo output, but 2.1 (to add a sub later) would be good. Inputs would need to be 1-2 stereo ins, I basically plan on mostly Bluetooth streaming, but potential for adding a record player in future. Radio would be a plus (again, with those midi systems). Really, I just want something that's functional enough and sounds better than the $20 Bluetooth speaker we currently use. I have/will have some 'better' sounding stuff in another room, so doesn't need to be the ultimate.

Compact, good-looking solution on a budget?

  Amazing how much you get here—DAC, amp, remote, Bluetooth radio, and really good sounding speakers, all for one low spend. This is where good sound is going.

 $175 per room.  My neighbor spent $50k on his obsolete inbuilt whole house system. Mine sounds way better. He saw me pull out my phone, open the chooser and tap the rooms I wanted the music to play, and he began to weep

 Since they’re front ported you can help the bass by moving them close to the wall. You can even hang them on the wall.  Amazing how much you get here—DAC, amp, remote, Bluetooth radio, and really good sounding speakers, all for one low spend. This is where good sound is going

Whole Home Audio

My tv is aSamsung RU8000. It only has digital optical out, no 3.5mm or RCA. It also has ARC which I think is sometime if audio via HDMI.

The 1700BTs only has Bluetooth and RCA. Is there anyway I could convert the RCA to optical? Bluetooth works with my TV but I’m worried about sound quality suffering.

If I can’t get this to work then my only other option is to get 1280DBs instead as it has optical connection.
Or to get some other powered speakers in the same price range as the 1700BTs ($150 USD) with similar performance that had digital optical connection.

First, I love the sound from these speakers! I am using them mostly for our Sony KD55X80J TV. The upgrade is great, and music played through the media player is great, especially the bass. However there were some issues:  First: Per advice from a Youtube review, I stuffed the ports and downloaded updated firmware from the Neumi website. This took time and effort but the result was worth the effort

After using crappy monitor built-in speakers for years, I finally decide to invest some money(not a lot though) in getting a good pair of speakers. But it is difficult for me to pick a nice budget one. My **budget is around CAD 200** (or USD 150). Mostly listening to electronic, classic, and pop music. I will use it as multimedia as well.

As a newbie to audiophiles, should I get some decent active speakers like Edifier, Presonus? Or I should split my budget in half, get a brand new amplifier, and used passive speakers. Something like Audioengine A2+ or Kanto yu2 will be nice although they are out of my budget. I really like their design.

 These speakers sound great with no fuss and are easy to listen for a long time.  The EQ was easy to update. The bluetooth works well with my phone or laptop.  Update: I've made two purchases which have improved my enjoyment of the speakers immensely
