 And today I got to ride the Never Summer Proto Synthesis in a size 148 at the beautiful Powder Mountain Resort in Utah. I’m looking at new boards that may fit my riding style.

I’m 6’1” and 200lbs, with size 12.5 boots. I enjoy playful blues where I can catch some jumps and get some fun, tight turns in. I can land a 180 and really close to a 360. I love the medium-sized kickers in the park, but I still ride all mountain. I haven’t found myself jibbing or playing in pipes. I’d like to get a board that’s more playful, but can still handle the occasional tough run. I’d like to learn to butter, and some other simple tricks

I currently ride a Salomon Assassin 160W 2017 board. I have no major complaints with the board, but I haven’t ridden anything else. It’s categorized as an All mountain freestyle. On tough runs, I find myself catching a toe (large feet aren’t ideal)

I’ve read great things about the Never Summer Boards, but am worried the prototype 2 may be too similar to my Assassin to offer a different feel. The funslinger seems awesome but was discontinued this year in favor of the ProtoSlinger. I’m hesitant to buy a freestyle board since it doesn’t seem like many boards cater to the larger riders. 

I’m currently thinking either a 2019 FunSlinger X and a 2020 ProtoSlinger X which are the large models. Is it worth buying a 160+ W model freestyle board?

Is there other brands/models that may be a good fit for me?

Freestyle Board Recommendations

 For the graphic, it looks like more of a futuristic graphic, which I'm into and I think it was pretty dope. My first impressions on riding the board was that the edge-to-edge control was very good and it didn't take me long to get used to. I never felt like I was going to lose my edge or like slip out of it. This board was very stable at high speeds and I feel like that's what this board is for

I want a strong, durable snowboard that will help me off the jumps, is easy to spin and land on. I am a big guy at 6.5, 100 kilograms and with shoe size 13-14 (euro 46-47). The board has to be wide, ultra wide or DF. I don’t know any park riders so I really would appreciate all suggestions.

The most versatile snowboard

It is an entry level board, with low end materials and construction. The Proto Synthesis has a much more aggressive hybrid profile, so it gives much better edge hold, a more stable feel riding fast, more pop and it has a much better (faster) base than the Carbon Credit - but you pay quite a bit more for it. Trying to decide between these two. I'm an east-coast rider but try to take a trip out west every year and typically do a true all mountain ride including park, steeps and groomers. Trying to decide which would be the best board for me. Any suggestions, pros/cons welcome!

GNU Carbon Credit vs. Never Summer Proto Synthesis

Hey guys looking at getting new board and bindings for the upcoming season here in Queenstown New Zealand (hoping it will still happen) im a relatively beginner done a few seasons also  14 days in Japan last year. I currently ride a Salomon pulse 156  28 year old male about 65kg and 5 foot 8. (180cm) most of my riding will be in New Zealand

Any advice on board and bindings would be greatly appreciated.
