I also thought they were really laggy and I ended up feeling really slow especially on defence. I'm a big believer in more minimal footwear, I run in Nike Free RN 5.0s, yesterday I ended up playing in New Balance 550s and they felt pretty great, maybe my feet were a little more sore after but my leg muscles felt good and they were super responsive. I was thinking of trying the Cosmic Unitys or OMN1S low before I go back to playing in 90s shoes all the time, but I'm worried these are going to have the heavily cushioned feeling that's gonna make me heel strike a lot.

BUT THE OMN1S whoo boy. I don't work for New Balance but if they kept these coming I'd do it for free. Great lockdown (caveat- absolutely runs a half size long), wide toe box (and high! Which is good for toes that like to spread but also curve up a bit (again, my shit is jacked up down there)), great cushion.

I then thought I wanted to try a little bit of a drop and after trying many shoes that felt too narrow, even in a wide size, settled on the beacons. Even though they are not as comfortable as the Altras, the midsole is perfect!

The cushion/impact protection was really good, but I wore that shoe to nothing from practicing stepbacks lol. Anyway, this year I decided to get the Omn1s, because online they were rated one of the better outdoor shoes.

I know the fit on the omn1s is strange and long I usually wear a nike 14 so I bought both a 13.5 and a 13 in the Omn1s to try out. It's so weird that the 13.5s fit snugly around my midfoot but then bubbles alot in the toe area and still seems like .25 sizes long.
