 We love the issues the traditional directional carving outline instead opts for something more progressive with this blunted nose and tail and this pays dividends in the park keeping it maneuverable through the length allowing for some playful spins and also helping to bring the overall weight down for balance in the air. We also found that the side kick in the nose and tail wasn't just a stable base for takeoff and landing but also helped to really lock in when you're getting into presses. While its day job for sure is an aggressive carving machine, the thruster moonlights as a nifty powderboard as well. The added volume and 3D shaping in the nose help to eliminate the diving sensation that full canvas snowboards often fall victim to in deeper snow and the reduced surface area in the tail helps it to sink down into the snow for pumping turns and slashing pockets

 It's pretty common knowledge that carving is back in a big way and the thruster with its powerful full camber, tapered outline and setback inserts is somewhat of a juggernaut when it comes to precision on its edge. But we found the conditions don't have to be right to make the most of the thruster. The 3D shaping in the nose bevels the sides of the boards up giving you the ability to smash through chop and chunder and slush through slash with less resistance. Our crew also felt the benefits of the high-end core, the carbon layout and the vibration dampening absorb mid-layer when bombing full speed, eliminating some of the chatter and keeping things feeling smooth underfoot even when encountering less than ideal conditions

 What you will notice is that it initiates outside the front foot between the end of the inserts and the contact point. That's really where it starts to steer, and then you end up driving it more from the middle of the board right inside that back foot, right where that flex point is. The torsional flex is noticeable, you can really twist this board with your ankles when you need to, and when it comes to stability, you get chatter in the nose that does resonate back underfoot. The midsection of the board is the most stable, and it's one of those boards where you want to keep your knees bent when you're really charging hard, but for the most part, it's actually a damp ride, but it's not a dead turd, it's not one of those boards that just kills all vibrations
