I bought a Nikon d3400 a few years ago and have used it fairly moderately. However I find myself not using it as much due to its size and the hassle in carrying it during travel. I tend to leave it out to travel lighter or just not have space for it and just use my iphone for pictures. I'd like to be able to get a compact camera that is easy to carry around.

I currently have a Nikon d3400 which has served me well but definitely needs an upgrade in the video category since my iPhone is legitimately shooting better video haha. I work for a crafts business so I need a camera that is able to do high detail close ups with good colors and do videos of both products and of people doing stuff around the store.

I have a Nikon D3400 that I have used forever for landscape and nature photography. You can get it with two kit lenses for pretty cheap - an 18-55mm that's good for landscapes and a 70-200mm that works well for wildlife. The image quality is great, but I've felt a bit restricted by the crop sensor and lack of features I would like (automatic bracketing, better burst potential, metering on manual lenses, etc. ), but for most hobbyists, those things aren't the biggest deal.

(At least I was able to swap out my Nikon AF-P Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5 - 5.6G DX VR for the 16-80mm lens. Such a major improvement!). I generally use my D3400 in manual mode, adjusting the light meter etc as well as a couple of the presets - landscape and portrait mostly. I mostly use my camera for pictures of friends and family, and take it with me hiking, day trips (apple picking, brewery hopping) and vacations / exploring cities.
