The Ninja Foodi Cold & Hot Blender is the best mid-range blender we've tested. Once again, the lower price tag represents a step down in build quality. It's not as well-built as the KitchenAid K400 but feels very sturdy. The 64-ounce jar is made of glass, which you may find is less prone to scratches and discoloration than plastic. It's a superb ice crusher and makes very smooth and spreadable nut butter, although it's not as easy to use for that as the Vitamix 5200. It doesn't come with a tamper, but the jar has a two-part lid, so you can pour more ingredients in without stopping the machine. It's very well-suited for processing fibrous ingredients, but if your recipe includes tough additions like kale, it makes a slightly grainier puree than the pricier options on this list.

This blender has a heating element built into the main jar, so you can use it to make hot soup. There are a few blending programs for hot recipes and more common presets like 'Smoothie' and 'Frozen Drink'. However, there are only three speed presets for manual blending, so you have few options for fine-tuning the blending speed compared to the more expensive blenders on this list. It's also a bit louder than the KitchenAid blender. Unfortunately, it's hard to clean the jar because food can get stuck under the non-removable blades. The lid is dishwasher-safe, but you can't put the jar in the dishwasher or immerse it in water because of the heating element.

The Ninja Foodi Cold & &Eta;ot &Beta;lender is the best upper mid-range blender for ice crushing. Like most of Ninja's full-size blenders, it's very well-suited for ice-crushing, easily pulverizing ice cubes into snow-like ice in about 30 seconds. It lacks Vitamix's long warranty and isn't as well-built, but it has excellent build quality. The main jar is made of glass, which you may find is less likely to get scratched than plastic, and its 64-ounce capacity means it can handle big batches of ice. Unlike most Ninja blenders, it comes with a two-part lid for the jar and a tamper, so you can pour in ingredients or stir your recipe while the machine is running.

There are less expensive options that perform similarly for crushing ice, so this one is worth considering if you prioritize build quality and versatility. Like the Vitamix 7500, it can process hot ingredients and even cook ingredients, thanks to the heating element built into the jar. It can puree fibrous ingredients like kale into a smooth blend, although it makes less silky puree with fibrous ingredients than the Vitamix blender. The jar can't be immersed in water and isn't the easiest to clean by hand, but if you're just working with ice and liquid, its 'Self-Clean' program will do most of the work for you.

 That's cool, I have not seen a plug like this on any of my other Ninja Foodie Family products. So alright so let's take a look at the base of the blender, that's very pretty, a lot of buttons there, so there's a smoothie button, a frozen drink, a saute, a hearty soup, a smooth soup, oh that's cool, so that's going to change the speed at which it blends so that you can have a chunkier soup, a sauce and a dip, cocktails, wow, mixer, water, extract, ice cream. I'm going to have fun with this, I cannot wait to start making recipes for this. I see this going with the Ninja Foodie really well, the pressure cooker and air crisper so I think I'm going to be able to do some components of a dish and then use this and the other one

 All in all I returned the blender because while it was nice to make soup with, when the motor started to fail, I was afraid it would stop working completely.
