The Noctua NT-H1 comes in quite a big easy to open plastic packet with the standard Noctua brown and blue colour scheme.  We are also told that this is a premium grade thermal compound and for specs and usage instructions we should visit the Noctua website. Going through the main features of the paste we find that it has excellent performance due to it consisting of a hybrid compound of different micro particles which have specifically been optimised for use in PC environments. Maximum ease of use and efficient dosage means that the NT-H1 spreads very well under pressure. There's no need to smear it over the heat spreader

 NT-H1 doesn't contain any solvents or other substances with low flash point and provides excellent long term stability. I just redid my water loop and also replaced the thermal paste of my waterblocks. When I removed the block on my 5950X, i noticed that the location of the IO die and CPU chiplets were clearly visible:

Is this normal? Could this cause an issue in the long run? Did I have too much/too little pressure?

What to expect

 So what I'm going to do is I'm going to run the test on Prime95 here. And we're going to run it for about 15-20 minutes, something like that, so long as the temperatures don't get too crazy high. So then that will give us our baseline numbers that we'll have to compare to after we switch out the thermal paste. Alright, let's go

 So I've opened up Prime95 here as well as a hardware monitor so I can look at all my core temperatures on my CPU right here. And then I can also look at the core clocks and see what kind of frequency they're running at and make sure that if there's any throttling or anything going on, that kind of thing. But mostly, we're most concerned about the temperatures for now. I'm just going to see kind of what happens with this

 Well, that wasn't exactly the results that I was anticipating, but it was a result. We learned that the Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste and the Cooler Master paste that comes with my CPU cooler work about the same. And we also learned that seemingly my CPU cooler was in fact installed correctly the first time.  Just keep a expensive caliper handy lol ...  This will now be my go to thermal paste you can’t be the amount you get for the price the performance is probably the same as Arctic silver five if not better definitely way better than the cooler master gel  Take thermal paste performance charts with a grain of salt because I bought a new were hyper to Saul Evo and it came with cooler master gel paste It has absolutely abysmal performance arctic ceramic two is better than the stuff like I can’t believe how bad this cooler master paste actually is

 It’s clear the Germans probably over engineered the directions . If u follow them to a T u will get a gorgeous application . Just keep a expensive caliper handy lol .
