This is the faster version There's also a DDR2 model that I was scared of buying because usually I always buy the lower-end stuff But no, this is the normal 8800 GT with 512 megabytes of VRAM The test system consists of a Ryzen 7 3700X and 16 gigs of RAM The latest drivers available for it are 342. What is this? What the heck is this? As I was saying, I'm not sure how it translates to people If you can spot people or not I believe there should be water right there as well But there are things flying right there This is perfect, oh boy Yes, I'm walking over water, okay I'm submerged right now All right, well, yep This is the problem with these old GPUs in Rust My friends, this is crisis, unfortunately We can't play the remastered But we can check if it can run crisis So can it run crisis? Let's find out We're at the 720p resolution with the high settings preset without motion blur And 30s on high settings at 720p, guys This is not bad Wow, this is kind of impressive, okay? It's way better than, for example, the GT710 in this game That GPU got like 35 FPS average But at medium settings instead of high And high settings is actually looking pretty for a 2007 game 2007 GPU as well, so yeah In 2007 with a GPU like this one It was an amazing experience at 30 plus FPS Let me tell you, that could be destroyable, couldn't it? Like the trees, look at the trees Such wonderful tech for 2007, guys Yes, oh, oh, it's flying It doesn't matter It's just the physics In 2007, things were different That's how you exploded cars back in the days, guys Oh my God Well, that was amazing This is a completely playable experience for crisis, by the way And look at the graphics You wouldn't say that this game is 13 years old There we go I want to explode that car over there Just to see the explosion actually does something to the FPS There we go All right, 34 still Not too bad Yeah, no stutters as well So this is amazing This is an awesome experience It can definitely run crisis I'm very happy to say this So crisis ran well But let's test the real crisis for the 8800 GT This is ARK Survival Evolved We're playing at the lowest setting 720p resolution with 100% resolution scale And that means that we are getting Yeah, sub 20 FPS This is amazing, my friends Oh my gosh It still shows D3D11 there Which I find very interesting And I can't find anywhere why it says D3D11 I know it's something to do with feature level Because somebody already told me But I don't really remember I'm just gonna run away I believe that dinosaur, the tiny one Is probably going after me But okay, we got 15 FPS average there And 1% loss of 11 So yeah, this is the real crisis Let's just turn the resolution scale down to the lowest And see if it helps And we gained 4 to 5 FPS Which is not bad The resolution scale is very, very bad I'm just gonna pick up your poop, sir Thank you Can I?  Hello guys Chris here and welcome back to another video in this one my friends I'm gonna be testing one of the most popular GPUs ever created in the history of graphics cards This one is the Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT, of course, and it released back in October of 2007 for 200 250 bucks other sites say 350 bucks, but the point is it massively undercut the price of the 8800 GTX Which was the higher-end card at 600 bucks and it delivered pretty much the same performance Just slightly slower than the 8800 GTX So it was a big big deal back in 2007 and 2008 and 2009 and stuff like that it was massively sold around the world a lot of people bought it back then and For that it's one of the most popular GPUs ever and in my opinion the design of it looks pretty good Like it's a single slot card as well. So it's really tiny and really Slim yes, that's that's the word I actually don't even know if it works yet because I haven't installed it in my system because I've been making a lot of Cold War videos in Black Ops Cold War, of course, so let's just install this 13 year old Beautiful piece of hardware in our system and see how it runs in 2020 Shall we and here we go. GeForce 8800 GT | One of the Most Popular Nvidia GPUs of All Time!

I don't play super demanding games (no fps or anything) so a super powerful computer wouldn't be very ethical. I just want something with a good amount of power that I can also work from/transport to classes and whatnot. I don't really have a budget but preferably something that is under 3k-2.5k

I'm a University student that wants to game but I don't want to buy a PC.

Very steep price for a 8 year old card. ...

 It launched one year earlier in November of 2006 and offered outstanding performance but at a high price. It launched for around 600 USD. It is built on a quite large 90nm manufacturing process. We have two 6-pin PCI Express power connectors, it is a dual slot graphics card and PCI Express 1

 It is a single slot video card and it supports PCI Express 2.0. It has a little bit less video memory, 512 MB and in terms of performance it is not quite as fast as the 8800 GTX but close enough. However what really made this video card so legendary is the price

5 GB, so we are adding an Ethernet controller to make the installation of games and benchmarks a little bit faster. We have a 750 Watt power supply from Thermaltake sitting idle on the desktop, 68 Watt for the entire computer, running CPU-Z on all cores, 111 Watt and running CPU-Z, the stress test in the benchmark as well as gaming crisis, 172 Watt. First up we have Half Life 2, that's an older game and at full HD with all the details maxed out over 200 FPS, so excellent performance with older games. Race Driver Grid is next, this is also an older game

5 gigabit Ethernet makes a difference installing games and benchmarks happens really fast and of course, you want to use a SSD and yeah, that's it for this video guys. Which one better for programmer/light gaming in college?

  Pros: Is good for the price, is impressivly quiet, doesn't get very hot, is small, uses little power, works with any mother board made after 2010, and can play some of the newer titles at medium quality with physics turn off.  Cons: Could get a more powerful card for a similar price from ATI, and has no HDMI outputs. But, what do you want, it's an older card.

A cheep yet powerful card.

 And while a lot of those transistors were used for the new on-chip video processing engine, some were used to enhance the overall performance of the chip. I always thought the 8800 GT had a bit of an odd naming scheme, as it should have been part of the 9000 series. Well, oddly enough, it was eventually rebadged as the 9800 GT, but it should have been called that from the start. Nvidia made matters worse with the 8800 GTS 512, but let's not get into that right now

 Now compared to the other cards tested, this card does sip some power. Now let's take a look at GPU temperature and fan speed. Now we're using Crysis to get our temps moving in an ambient of 17C, which is pretty cold, and we can see the single slot cooler doesn't do the best job cooling the card with BFG's conservative fan curve. Now with the fan speed set to auto, the GT topped out at 79C, and the fan was stabilizing at around 41%

 Now when applying our overclock, I ramped up the fan speed to 100%, and it kept the card cooler at 70C under load. Now the single slot cooler isn't great, and it's not particularly quiet, as I much prefer the more robust dual slot solutions found on the big G80 cards. As we move into our conclusion, I found it pretty neat to see how well these cards hold up in mostly newer DX9 and DX10 games. Now the 8800GT holds up very well against its bigger brothers in a lot of the games that we tested

 Now the GT averaged 27 frames per second, and overclocked that number rose 14% to 31. Now we can see the GT was neck and neck with the GTX in average frame rate, and it even held its own with the Ultra. Now sadly, due to the lack of VRAM, it suffers with inconsistent frame times compared to its big brothers. Oddly enough, the 2900XT has the most VRAM, but it still couldn't keep pace with the Nvidia cards
