Well, the new enthusiast tier touring architecture cards, the 2080 and the 2080 ti include what they're calling rt cores, which for rtx enabled games, render a simplified ray traced scene in parallel with the standard cuda cores raster rendering

 These are being leveraged for nvidia's new, deep learning super sample anti-aliasing, which nvidia claims can achieve near 64x. Super sampling with less performance impact than traditional aaa, which they've achieved by pre-training data, sets for each supported game and then pushing those results out via driver updates. There is a catch, though, just like rtx real-time ray tracing. It has to be supported on a game by game basis

 It does the job, but I would not buy that. I would spend 800 dollars and get a premium card at this price point. I'M of the opinion that if you're buying 700r4 the graphics cards an extra hundred dollars to get a premium experience, a cooler and quieter running card is worth it. There are four cards that I would personally spend my own money on right now: the EVGA for the win 3, the MSI gaming extra, oh, the a sous Rob Strix and then the gigabyte Horus, not the gaming here, but the one with the larger fans

RTX 2080 Founders Edition Review, Overclocking, & Benchmarks

Hiya, old macbook's hard drive and battery just crapped out at the same time after 8 years. Not too bad, but it was struggling pretty hard for the last few years, damn OS updates. I'm looking forward to getting a laptop that will actually be fast and play some games, plus be able to handle potentially demanding machine learning functions since I'm studying neuroscience and computer science. Only ever had macbooks in the past and this is my first time actually putting in effort to find a laptop that fits me. I've done a fair bit of research and I will definitely do a lot more, but I need some help. Thanks in advance :)

Laptop for some gaming and machine learning

 ***There is still no good explanation for releasing technology with no software/games or benchmarks to boot - except for the greed and destruction that mining has created*** I'm bumping up from a 1070 to get ready for VR compatibility. Nvidia needs to be careful about their investments outside of the gaming/enthusiast community (IMO).  Old review: Next time you turn your back on your most loyal customers (Gaming & Enthusiast) - will be the 'Silicon that broke the camels back'. Originally one star for lack of reviews, benchmarks, and customer loyalty

Almost 30 years later, my gaming rig is a modest AMD Ryzen 7 3700x paired with a Gigabyte 3060Ti, 16GB DDR4, 2TB of SSD&#39;s and a 34&quot; LG UW 2560x1080 monitor. I was talking with some friends the other day who are also hobbyists and we were taking about all the external video cards we have ever owned.
