Still, 18 months after release, you can now get 3090s for as low as $1900 US over at places like Newegg.com and that's still almost 30% over MSRP, but of course it's well down from the $3000 plus prices we were faced with not that long ago. Of course, the RTX 3090 is still a dumb product for gamers, given the original RTX 3080 can now be had for $1100 US and in some instances a bit less, meaning you're paying over 70% more for a 3090 for what amounts to about 10-15% more performance at 4K

Making Nvidia’s CEO mad - RTX 3090 Review

I'm a Windows 10 user hoping to make the switch to linux for my everyday-OS. I haven't decided on a distro to use yet (I'm thinking Fedora, but if there is something better that suits my needs then please suggest it).
I have a Desktop computer with

Motherboard: TUF GAMING X570-PLUS
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X
GPU:Nvidia RTX 2070
RAM: 16GB DDR4 

While searching around the internet I came across the popular "f*** you, Nvidia" video and that caused me to do some research. From my understanding, Nvidia support on Linux is really really bad because Nvidia doesn't want to release the source code of their drivers?

This caused me to have some concerns about switching to Linux. I am primarily going to use linux for programming and running VMs - I don't tend to play many games so my GPU is sorta overkill. I would like my GPU to be able to run at full capability if I ever wanted to something that required it to in the future. Should I wait until I get an opportunity to switch to an AMD GPU, or is Nvidia GPU support gotten better?

I apologise for the open-ended style of this question, but I want to be confident that what I have will actually work or not.

How bad is Nvidia GPU support on Linux?

3090 ti monster

 Now, Pugetbench just updated their plugins literally a few days ago. So I had to rerun all my tests, not only on the RTX cards, but even the M1 Ultra Mac Studio that I have here. And the Mac Studio is now the king when it comes to Adobe Premiere Pro. It had the highest score I've seen on anything that I've tested recently

 And I still think Nvidia or maybe even MSI, I'm not sure who, needs to update these drivers so that these creative applications I've tested show better performance. Because there's no way that this card is performing worse than an RTX 3080 Ti. Because when it comes to gaming, we see that jump, but I'm not seeing it in creative applications. So anyways, that is my review of the RTX 3090 Ti

 It's a slight bump up from the RTX 3090. And I saw about a seven to eight frames per second difference. At the end of the day, I think if you were buying the best GPU for the price for gaming and you want like as much performance as possible, I truly feel like the RTX 3080 Ti makes the most sense. This is really geared towards that one niche, the creator niche that wants to utilize 8K assets, are working with large memory workflows and need all that extra VRAM

Simple Questions - March 18, 2022

Bought it but was forced to return it - just much too big for my pre-built HP Omen 30L

 I mean, the 12900KS is looking tasty, a little too expensive at, even though it's also only about a month and change old, I'd like to see that discounted. That's another thing, kind of like 3090Ti, where it isn't going to give us that much more than the processor one step below it for a couple hundred less. But it is the fastest CPU on earth right now. Any questions or comments, please feel free to post them

 These are available, and that might be the best part about it. Now don't get me wrong, the performance is amazing. It's the best on earth right now, especially if you're looking for a hybrid GPU that can do both. Meaning not just gaming, but any form of content creation, deep learning, I mean this is something that knocks most Quadro options clear off the block, and that's what makes it so unique

 So this GPU, if I can even pull it out of this package, and this weighs about five pounds, this monster, I'm gonna put this aside, we'll come back to the packaging, 450 watts is the draw on this card now, that is up from the 350, the 3090, so a 100 watt jump. And this is part of the reason Nvidia is calling this a Titan class card, or a BF GPU, which you can speculate what that stands for, I know what Nvidia says it stands for, I have a different theory, but, you know, a big, you know what, GPU. But the point here is, is that we are getting a bit of a look into the future. And for anyone during this video that was thinking, well, why not just wait until the end of this year, you know, fourth quarter for the announcement of the new generation, you know, the 4000 series, presumably, that's always good in theory

 I've watched Nvidia grow over the years, now for over 20, I think I started following them in the late 90s, when I was also in love with 3DFX, and ATI had its place too, but of course it's in a much better place now. And to see Nvidia come this far is amazing. Of course, again, this card makes no sense at its price for its performance in the context of the other GPUs that Nvidia makes, but availability, the fact that a 3090 right now, if you want a Founder's Edition especially, is going to be marked up to about the same price as this, you certainly wouldn't consider it. However, from a power standpoint, we're getting a preview of what is to come
