 It can get super bright, good for use in direct sunlight, it's sharp, it's colorful, and it's very smooth. Even with it being a curved screen, I haven't experienced an obnoxious amount of accidental presses. That's been surprisingly fairly minimal now that I think about it. The screen houses a fingerprint scanner of course, and it's been pretty solid in my experience

 There's just a bit left to be desired, all things considered. OnePlus has a number of things to tweak, and if they can get there, you're looking at a top five camera experience easily. Say what you will about OnePlus. But the 10 Pro is a very good phone

 Your mileage may vary, of course. Now, this is all enhanced by the fact that dropping the screen resolution to FHD+, and the refresh rate down to 60 Hertz improves battery results, and in addition to that, things are enhanced by the charging speeds this phone comes with. We're looking at 65 watt fast charging, at least here in the States, and 50 watt fast wireless charging. It's still not my favorite, and it does need a good amount of work, but I'm no longer completely turned off by it

 Having a Pro mode is a plus. The Pixel still doesn't have one. Dual view video, 150 degree FOV, long exposure, and X-Pan are all neat things to try out. And the Pro Movie mode, which includes log support, is great for those that really want full flexibility when it comes to the added quality and the ability to grade footage

OnePlus 10 Pro long-term review: 5 months later

Coming from a long time on and off OnePlus user there is now better value on the market. OnePlus used to have really high end specs for their never settle price. Now they have pretty much the same specs as most flagships at the same price. After trying some other devices I feel you can save a few hundred dollars elsewhere and get almost the same thing

 We would have preferred they kept the macro and autofocus capabilities on the ultra-wide instead of the fisheye camera. At 900 bucks, the 10 Pro has the punch and performance that OnePlus has been known for, but there are a lot of great options to consider at this price point, and even if you pay just a little bit more, you can find something that's decidedly more polished and well-rounded.  Resulting photos have great details and very well handled dynamic range in backlit scenes. Colors are pleasant and not too saturated. There isn't any autofocus here, though, and videos are limited to 1080p. 8K video doesn't appear to be true 8K, though

 The major one is OxygenOS, which has lost much of its character in its merger with ColorOS. It's inconsistent, too, and it's bound to disappoint long-time OnePlus fans who remember the UI differently. Meanwhile, the cameras perform well and low-light performance is great, but the app is missing polish. Not only that, but the ultra-wide camera has lost its autofocus compared to the 9 Pro

 The protection, however, has been updated to Gorilla Glass Victus. On the OnePlus 10 Pro, the panel has undergone dual color calibration, meaning that OnePlus tuned the color profiles at 100 and 500 nits of brightness, so that we can see more accurate colors across more levels of brightness. We found the display on this phone to be very color accurate, making it ideal for consuming or even creating content. Otherwise, the screen is rated for up to 1300 nits of brightness, with great visibility outdoors

I absolutely love the hardware and software of my 6 Pro. I can even get past the frame drops and glacially slow charging.

But the constant, and when I say constant, I mean less than every 5 minutes, connectivity issues has me about to throw this phone in the Atlantic.

I can't watch a video, read reddit, or especially play a game of chess without my connection going out. Important calls have been dropped, winning games have been lost, and movies have been given up on because this phone can't stay connected. 

I use T-Mobile, but I even tried switching to Verizon and it didn't help. Happens on Wifi too.

I was going to go back to my OnePlus 10 Pro, but this experience completely soured the allure of any Android phone, and basically forced my hand into ordering an iPhone again.

So long, Pixel 6 Pro. You could've been great, instead you ruined it for me.

Pixel 6 Pro having constant connectivity issues

FALSE ADVERTISING. Phone was supposed to be unlocked. It's locked and can't be used in Colombia SA.

 So this one, actually the OnePlus 10 Pro, the 8 gigabyte model 128, they've had as low as like $325 or something like that. Open box on Best Buy. But I mean, even in my area, they had one I found for like $350. This phone is an insane steal of a deal

I've had a lot of people asking me the last couple of days, hey, should I get the Pixel 7 at $499 or Best Buy and some other places have been selling the OnePlus 10 Pro brand new for $550

 If you give me the opportunity to go a 7 Pro or a OnePlus 10 Pro, I'm going 7 Pro all day. But if you say, look, 500 bucks, 400 bucks, are you going to get the OnePlus 10 Pro or the Pixel 7? I would probably lean towards the OnePlus 10 Pro. As much as I love the Pixel phones, I like the more complete package, the beautiful screen that it's got, the 120 hertz refresh rate, Quad HD+, full camera setup, not just the two. There's some give and take, but this right here, beautiful phone

 I mean, that's a no brainer. This is a true flagship phone. I like this better than the other one or the shutter speed or look, top notch cameras, second generation of using the cameras. It's got the Hasselblad stuff, the cooperative, the color science

IMO,  +1 seems to be losing more and more appeal as we keep moving forward.  
Ditching  Hasselblad,  worse software QA, increased price, merging Oxygen OS with ColorOS, and now removing the slider.     Is Nothing the spiritual successor, or are there other options I should consider?  


I value a good screen,  battery life, ok game performance, and little to no bloat if possible.  


How do pixel devices stack up these days?  I would have to do a non-official import, but it could be done.  


Suggestions welcome.

I returned my Pixel 6. While I liked a lot about it there were some things I hated and they were showstoppers. The biggest was the the display. It seemed a lot more dull than other phones I have used the last 5 years and I just absolutely hated it. Even when I turned the brightness up. I have gotten used to a nice vibrant screen and don't want to go back. Also for some reason the Pixel 6 felt like a small screen phone in the body of a big phone. Maybe it was bigger bezels than I'm used to but it felt very narrow. I was coming from a OnePlus 6T which is the same size. Also the misleading and slow charging was a major turnoff.

I moved from a 4yr old Pixel 2XL to a Pixel 6 and I expected a huge difference - but I don't think it was honestly. It's not an awful phone but it probably had more hype than it deserved and I was a little disappointed.

I hazard a guess we might be at the point of diminishing returns with improving phone technology so maybe the 2XL was already at the "very good" end of the spectrum.

Well. I wouldn't say regret but I'm just a little disappointed with mobile data connectivity and speeds compared to my s21 ultra and battery life. So far everything else is better than the s21 ultra to me. 
I also miss being able to switch screen resolution to save battery.

Nah. Google ships the best version of Android, and the Pixel 6 runs it quicker than any phone I've owned. I wish it were smaller, sure, but this is the way of phones now; not much to be done about it. I've seen reports about bugs or issues, but I've been lucky enough to not experience them. And for whatever reason most fingerprint readers don't get along with my fingers, but the in-screen reader on the P6 has been absolutely phenomenal for me. It's like a beat slower perhaps, but who cares when it works 95% of the time vs the, hell, like 60% of the old readers. Even works when my hands are wet most of the time.

Every feature of the dang phone works well and delivers on its promises, honestly. No complaints except the one I knew I'd have going in: it's big.

I gotta vent here. First, I came from a pixel 2xl. Second, 73 yo with dryer skin than you whelps. (smiley) Fingerprint reader is unusable in any configuration and will not (as stated in some reddit I read) learn as you use it.   
Interface is weird, I disabled the swipe functions because they really did not do anything I wanted them to do. And that little quick menu thing that hangs out in the margins of the screen must be a savant, it is ALWAYS where I want to click and in the way.   
Scrolling pull down menus are just idiotic.  Trying to find often used adjustments like screen brightness sold not have to require anything other than what the 2xl had - pulldown accessibility at the top of the screen.  
Cant (easily - if there is a way I have not found it) sync Drive accounts  or their content thare than by sharing with myself via email, and yes I am the owner of the Drive acct.  
Camera is marginal and reay not a measurable improvement over other past generations. note - pro photagraher full on Canon guy. Your phone will never be a camera no matter what they do to it. Offering different gimmicks just to keep up with an iPhone is silly and not a salable issue.  
Bluetooth is cranky. Really. Still marginal search and connect process. Don't you think they would have figured out Bluetooth by now?  
Speech to text is shitty with repeated words and missed guesses, it's actually worse than the 2xl by miles.  How did the brainiacs at Google figure out a way to make something worse than past versions?  
All in all maybe this is just managing expectations, I had higher expectations but really would have kept the 2XL if they had continued updating it of offered a payable update plan.  Tensor chip and all, which, overall has hac no measurable impact on my use of the phone. It's not faster, more intelligent, cooler, easier to use, more intuitive, or anything worth crowing about as far as I am concerned.  
Save yer money, I would but a used or new 5a over this anyday and if they don't do some serious updating before the return time expires that is what I will do.  This is NOT a flagship phone. is is a blingy update with a lot of unnecessary and unusable crap.

Yes I have buyers regret. Pixel is too damn big I prefer the iPhone Mini for its size. And IOS software seems very utilitarian. Android 12 just drops the ball on consistency. Sorry google, not this time.

not really, part of me still really wants the Samsung flip but pixel 6 was more in my budget for me so it's good enough and I haven't had major problems so I'm content with it.

I love the pixel 6 but I am having a bizarre issue when playing through Bluetooth. It's super choppy and no matter what I do it persists. It really makes listening to podcasts or music unbearable. I have contacted support and they are aware of the issue.... hopefully an update resolves it. Besides that, phone has been great.

No regrets, but honestly it doesn't feel like the big upgrade from the Pixel 3 that I expected. The 3 was perfectly fine, speed wise and since it was updated to Android 12 already, the 6 just feels like I'm using the same phone but bigger. The battery life is a huge improvement from my 3 that wouldn't last more than 4-ish hours and it's nice having a front camera again.. My old one was broken.

I still feel like it's kinda too big and heavier than I want my phone to be, but I'm getting used to it finally after a few weeks. It's more slippery than a bar of soap so that's kind of annoying since I don't like using a case, but I guess I'll need to get one soon before this thing slips. The camera ledge or whatever you want to call it helps me hold it by though.

<div class="md"><p>No regrets, but honestly it doesn&#39;t feel like the big upgrade from the Pixel 3 that I expected. The 3 was perfectly fine, speed wise and since it was updated to Android 12 already, the 6 just feels like I&#39;m using the same phone but bigger. The battery life is a huge improvement from my 3 that wouldn&#39;t last more than 4-ish hours and it&#39;s nice having a front camera again.. My old one was broken.</p>

Good phone, no plans to get rid of it or anything. I hate the size of it. Too freaking big.

I love my P6 pro!  And like every Pixel phone I expect it's going to get better little by little.
