I dont think he really NEEDS anything above $400, and I know below $200 is cutting it kind of close. $200-400 seems to be the golden median of reasonable performance that doesn't break the bank. All in all, I'll let you guys suggest stuff now. I will say I was looking at the oneplus nord 2 5G model as it was on sale no long ago but it looks more expensive now

Verdict – A worthy contender

I've been using the S7 Edge for 5 years, I would still keep on using it but it's falling apart and I'm scared of it dying on me while I'm in another country. The phone needs an SD Card slot because all my music is on an SD Card, I use it mostly for listening to the music and youtube. The only other feature I care about is the camera and a 3.5mm audio jack would be nice, but not essential.

New phone after 5 years of S7 Edge

  The reason I'm giving it two stars is that the camera is very good for this price point, as is the sound quality for calls and for podcasts. I have not had any trouble running all my apps, beyond the obvious problems with them becoming non-workable without an internet connection. The physical profile is nice.  None of this makes up for the problems

 I don't play games on my phone, and I rarely watch more than 15 minutes of video a day. I do have a lot of apps, but try to limit what's running in the background. Nevertheless, my phone drains from 100% at 8AM to below 40% by nightfall. I often have to recharge it during the day

 I've never had a major problem with that before. *** Two big problems started from the first day out of the box: it does not hold a charge well, and loses internet connection constantly. I don't play games on my phone, and I rarely watch more than 15 minutes of video a day. I do have a lot of apps, but try to limit what's running in the background

 This started as soon as I got it, and has only become worse over the 6 weeks it has been in use. The past few phones I had took a couple of years for the battery to become this bad.  However, the loss of connectivity is the bigger problem for me. I am on TMobile which is a GSM network so that's not the issue

I got myself the Oneplus Nord 2 5G and compared to the Galaxy S20 FE. For my use case Oneplus seems better. And, the Nord 2 beats my old Galaxy A50 by far, is much faster than my work phone Galaxy Note 8 and I don't think that the S10+ of my wife is a lot better than that. Battery live is great, charged last night and it's still above 50%, whereas I charged my Note 8 this morning and used it a lot less, it is at 20%

The OnePlus Nord 2 5g might be the better choice because of the battery since the S20 FE's is already an year old so it has already lost charge. Also the OP Nord charges much faster wired and since you're coming from a phone without wireless charging in guessing you don't have wireless chargers so it would force you to get one.

From what I've seen, the advantages of the Samsung would be the 120hz screen, a slightly better camera system, IP68 rating, microSD expansion slot and (reverse)wireless charging.
Advantages of the OnePlus seem to be the higher ram and storage, the glass back, 65W fastcharginh and 5G.
I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018), so I'm used to a Samsung - although I have to say, I really dislike all those Samsung apps, because the google Apps are also installed, and I can't uninstall either one of them, so I always need to have both. And also, my phone seems to really have degraded performance wise over the years.
I really can't decide which one is better. Am I better off with the Samsung or the OnePlus for the next ~3 years?

in SamsungYou can opt for the M51, M42 5G or F62. Camera quality is pretty good, performance is great. OnePlus Nord 2 5G is launching in a couple of weeks as well, might wanna look into that.

Hey, i have a strict budget of ₹25000 and really need a device with good camera, at least 90hz display (smooth ui) and lag free experience. I've seen almost all devices available in india and looks like oneplus nord CE is the only balanced phone. If there are some others, please let me know.

It is thought to be one of the better mid priced phones in US. Samsung A71 is also good for a price comparison.

It depends on what your looking for in a phone. Usually google pixel phones are great at taking photos, fast software updates, stock Android. 

The pixel 4a at 495 USD is not worth it. However other phones like the Upcoming Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72 are great options. You could also take a look at xiaomi phones. The newly launched redmi note 10 pro is a solid choice.
