Latest optoma gt1080hdr review update on 150" hi contrast grey screen worlds best gaming projector ?

Hello,

I would like to buy a projector. The image will be projected onto a screen and should be approx. 120" in size. The projector will be mounted on the ceiling. The distance to the screen can be 3-6 metres. So the 120" should not be a problem.

Now for my decision: I don't want to spend (significantly) more than 700 euros on the projector. I want a balanced picture, but I am not too demanding. I mainly watch films and series in the evenings, and occasionally do some light gaming (a round of Fifa or similar).

I don't care about sound, as I have a 5.1 system.

Since I don't have much experience with projectors, I don't care about DLP or LCD for the time being. I found an Optoma UHD30 second-hand for 700 euros.

The alternative is an Acer X1526AH as a return for 420 euros.

Do you think a 4k projectoris worth the extra cost? Is the Acer X1526AH recommendable as a Full HD projector, or should I rather look at Epson (and the LCD projectors) in the 700 Euro segment?

Optoma GT1080HDR Short Throw Gaming Projector  Review

If you are just looking for 1080p then ignore that other poster saying you can't get a gaming projector. The Optoma GT1080HDR and BenQ TH685 will both deliver very pleasing 1080p HDR images upto 120hz with lag times at 16ms or less in their gaming modes. If you want 4K then it's harder and you will be limited to 60fps and some elevated lag times.

Optoma GT1080HDR Projector short throw follow up.

I have a 13x21 foot room (although because of a HVAC bump out it’s more like 10x21. )
The screen, which I’m leaning towards a grey 110” or 115”, will be on the short wall. The front of the first seating row will be about 8-9ft back so there’s room for a table projector at least. 

My question is whether to aim for a decent short throw or ultra short at this price. I saw the Vava was on sale a few months ago for 2k so it feels rough to spend 2.8 but I’d rather not wait until next oct/nov for one. 

Further more, the Vava and the similar Chinese ones have built in sound bars which is appealing for the ease of setup. However they’re also only upscaled 4k.

Is there a plain short throw with true 4k at this price worth getting? Or even so, Is laser worth more to get than true 4k? 

Thanks in advance! I’m curious how you all prioritize those last couple attributes.
