Ortofon OM30

The OM30 and VM540ML are shaking out to be your most recommended. FYI - the 540ML is the replacement for the 440MLB, which is no longer made. Now, of the two: The Ortofon is more expensive both for initial purchase and stylus replacements.

I looked at the OM20 and OM30 but apparently those don't reduce distortions as much so I'm not considering Ortofon anymore. I came across with this:.

I'm no so much looking for amazing increase in listening sound quality, I'm only playing through a Pro-Ject debut carbon Recordmaster, internal staged, going direct a Nakamichi Delta 100 via aux... I'm more looking for better option for digitising some old house and techno records not available digitally. The OM30 seems way to much to spend on a stylus compared to the total price of the turntable itself, but that's the first one where you see a frequency response about 22,000.

I have a Dual 1237 with an Ortofon TM-10H and LP Gear Improved stylus for Ortofon TM-10H and a Technics SL-D2 with a Grado MC+ and a AT-130e with a LP Gear ATN125SLC. I plan to upgrade the TM-10H to LP gears version of the OM30. I use both of the Duals as stackers and routinely play up to 5 or 6 records at a time.
