I bought the Osprey Arcane large 9 months ago and I’ve been using it every day for work. I’m a social worker, but I use a bike to get from client to client. So it’s an active job where I still have to look professional. I wanted a BIFL bag that could hold up to both demands (durable, professional).

It’s comfortable, just the right amount of organization, excellent water bottle pocket. However, there’s one dealbreaker issue: when I pack the bag relatively empty, with just a laptop (Thinkpad X1 Carbon) and a charger, the laptop bounces all over the place when walking. No such problem on any other packs I’ve ever tried. For anyone else who EDCs an Osprey Arcane, have you had this issue?

Compared to the canvas (poly/cotton) material of my Osprey Arcane Large Daypack , the CPL feels plasticky, and compared to my unstructured BOGear Bullpup it feels like hard-sided luggage. And the black/black minimalist look does lack a bit of personality (even though that's exactly what I wanted).

Been looking for a sleek work backpack and currently the Osprey Arcane Large Daypack is a strong contender. While it is professional enough, it does still look just a tad studenty and I prefer the look of something like the Knomo Beaufort 15.6". I'm not sure if 16.5L will be enough however and it's quite heavy at 1.2kg so I wanted to ask for recommendations here.
