Parker 51

One nice pen amongst all the cheap, fun ones I buy merely because they're pretty or because of nostalgia. I have no real requirements other than a nice, interesting writing experience (either because it's a flex/stub or because it writes beautifully, like a Parker 51, or whatever other reason), but I admit I'll start balking if the price climbs too high unless there's a good justification - I plan on using this pen, so something like a Namiki is out of the question since I'd be terrified to get those pieces of art dirty or drop it or lose it.

Practical for everyday use, smooth, EDC worthy. The fine nibs in my experience tend to write like small architect nibs - the nib has a squared off shape rather than your typical round nibs (which people either love or hate - see the “sweet spot” debate around the internet.). The grip would be a concern, however if you like the experience on the Parker 51 I’d be inclined to say you’d like the one on the Lamy, it’s also a hooded nib, after all.

But I still wouldn't want to drop a Parker 51 or a Lamy Al-Star while I am at the grocery store. Do you have a knock around pen you use while shopping or doing other "not sitting next to a flat surface" activity.

It’s still not my favorite nib, but it’s getting better with age. Least buyer’s remorse..... probably my Franklin Christoph Model 20P, maybe my Parker 51 Vac, or most recently my Pilot Custom 74 SF. Each of these pens feels like a screaming deal for the quality they offer.

I've used it in my Konrad, my Sport, an original Parker 51, and a TWSBI Eco without issue. I don't practice great pen hygiene but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.
