 After several washings, these are just getting softer and more comfortable! They are indeed made in Portugal according to the tag and the packaging, and I have no issues with the sewing or quality of the sheets themselves. I have not experienced any pilling AT ALL, something many flannel sheet brands have issues with. I know some other reviewers have mentioned extreme pilling, but honestly, I have not experienced this at all with these Pinzon sheets. I do feel the manufacturer should address the pilling issue with the customers who do have this issue

  PROS: These are equal in weight and comfort to the $250+ designer flannel sheets I bought for years. Other than some decorative detail work on the top sheet that are on my expensive sheets,I cannot tell a difference between those sheets and these Pinzon ones.  Couldn't buy the bottom sheet separately, so I have several top sheets without mates. I saw these Pinzon sheets on Amazon a few years ago, and at that time ordered a set of the pillowcases only so I could see how they held up over time. Pleased with the results, when it was time to buy my winter flannel sheets again, I went ahead and ordered the Pinzon king sheet set a few months ago, in white. After having these for about 3 months, and using them continuously, I feel I can give a proper review now

Really like these sheets, sizing is an issue though

 So I took off one star for the fitted sheet.  Since there are many variables in manufacturing nowadays, it's possible that I received a mis-cut sheet but it's too late to exchange.  So I will recommend the sheet set with one caveat: Make sure the fitted sheet fits properly and return the sheets if it doesn't.  UPDATE 06/02/2013: I found my memory foam topper to be uncomfortable so I removed it

 The fitted sheet fits the 12-inch mattress perfectly but if the mattress was even 1/2 to 1 inch thicker, this sheet would not fit properly.

 Until I figured this out, I kept trying to pull it down to tuck in but it refused. My mattress is 12 inches and my topper is 2-1/2 inches which is a total of 14-1/2 inches and there is NO WAY the fitted sheet (at least the one I received) will fit an 18 inch mattress which is in the description. The dimensions are conflicting because it states a 15 inch pocket but then states it will fit an 18 inch mattress. So which is it? Nonetheless, the thickness of my mattress with topper is safely within the 15 inches but the sheet does not tuck in on one side

Lovely and Warm Sheets for Winter

 The 190 gram (White, Cream and now Thyme) all suffer from too-small pillowcases. The measurements online are the same but in real life they differ by nearly 2" in width, making it impossible to fit pretty much any queen pillow. I only use the 200 gram pair, the others are collecting dust in the back of my linen closet. The fitted sheets are not cut as generously either, so I'm guessing somewhere along the line some sneaky cost cutting measures were taken

 This time I measured the pillowcases when I opened the package and they were spot on at 20'x30'. It's only when they were washed that they shrunk a good 2" all around and became unusable for queen sized pillows. It's probably why the sheets seem a bit skimpy in width/length sometimes too. They need to preshrink the fabric is all, I don't know why this hasn't been addressed in over 10 years but Amazon really should insist upon it if they keep charging $75 per set

NICE sheets but...

 I have 2 sets of Queen sized that I’ve used for several winters and they still look new, wash beautifully, and feel soft against my skin.  However…there is one problem and perhaps the reason for the low cost: They are not as wide as standard Queen. For me, the quality & price is worth this shortcoming because I sleep alone & simply have them shorter on the side I don’t use, but this won’t work with 2 people wanting ample covering.  Bottom line: Fabric & stitching are an easy 5-star; usability rating is up to you

This is 7-oz flannel that’s think and doesn’t pill as does cheap flannel. Flannel is described by weight of material per square yard. Any flannel 6-oz and above are considered high quality; they last and don’t pill with use. If you see flannel sheets in a store without the weight listed, assume poor quality because high quality is a selling point that a manufacturer will be proud to advertise

 I guess the fact that these sheets have lasted as long as they have is a testament to their quality, but still, I am now searching for new flannel sheets and I don't think I'll order these ones again. I want to find sheets that actually feel like flannel. And hopefully will last just as long or longer than these! I don't know how long a set of flannel sheets should last.  For the money, and the warmth/comfort, these a great sheets

9-year review. Good for what they are

Soft and velvety

 They're really cozy, and I've gotten to the point where I'm using them almost year round because I like them so much.

Pocket Seam Only 14 Inches

 It a very soft, well made flannel pillow case. However, I was really looking more for a sham to put on my bed that would match with my Vellux blanket (I haven't found Vellux blankets). They weren't what I was looking for and therefore, the 4 stars, however, if you're looking for a nice flannel pillowcase, these are very nice and would recommend.

 If you have a thicker mattress, the sheets have elastics on all sides that secure them on the mattress. Pinzon claim that their sheets can fit mattresses of up to 18 inches. Chamois being a neutral color also coordinates well with any duvet color. The pinzon heavyweight chamois cotton flannel sheets are the spot on upgrade sheets

 The flat sheet is 87 by 105 inches and the fitting sheet is 60 by 80 inches with 15 inches pockets for fitting on the mattress. The sheets are very warm, soft and comfortable. Everyone loves to be treated like gold and these sheets perform that task diligently. With flannel sheets there is always the concern of them pilling off the mattress rendering bedtime uncomfortable but then again, the Pinzon heavyweight chamois cotton flannel sheets render this myth obsolete

 Pinzon prides themselves in delivering just what their customers need and the coziness that one experiences from lying on these sheets is evident that they take customer feedback seriously.  This is every customer’s dream-A company that acts on feedback to better their products. Remember to avoid using chlorine bleach during washing period as the color of the sheets will come out and you may end up with not so impressive beige looking sheets.

So when my Costco sheets ripped [recently], I had a choice: 1) Either buy another pair of "high-quality" [so called] flannel, again, from Costco, or, 2) Get THESE 190 gram sheets, here, from Amazon.  They obviously COST more then the [cheap/cheaper] Costco ones, but BOY! am I GLAD I splurged a little more, to get these!!!  (I KNOW I'm gonna sleep GOOD tonight!!! [UPDATE: I DID INDEED sleep VERY good last night
