 My mic sounds nice, check, one. Alright, let's talk about the Patronix Voyager 5200. It's the same as the best biased version, the 5220. The only difference is it comes with slightly different accessories

 Now, this is every time you turn it on or every time you plug it in or every time you unplug it from the charger. And speaking of the charger, what I've been having to do, because this will only last you one shift, nothing beyond one work shift, because at the most, it lasts like six hours or five hours on a full charge. So what I do, I just keep my USB plugged up to my computer. So every time I go on like a 15-minute lunch break or a 30-minute lunch break, I just plug it up, let it charge, and that lasts me another hour or two

 But I can't say after two months, going on three months, it's still holding up. It's losing its shape just a little bit, but it's still holding up. And the way you can tell if the battery is high or low or medium, normally when you turn the switch on, you'll see a little blue light. So if the blue light blinks twice, that means the battery is like at a medium level

Plantronics Voyager 5220 (5200) Review + Work From Home Mic Test

The bass is where things get fun. Very tight with great extension, not overwhelming like a TH900 but it is definitely present if a song calls for it and when it does it hits hard*. Going back to the Clear and it is quite a noticeable difference in quality and depth, a very welcome change that I am having a ton of fun with.

 Sounds simple, right? WRONG! It *usually* connects correctly, but about 1/3 of the time, you have to move the stupid headset on and off the charger multiple times to get the charger to recognize it and flash those little blue lights, and sometimes you have to blow hard onto the contacts to remove dust particles which apparently impede the connection. But the worst is, sometimes the little blue lights come on and you think it’s charging, but you wake up the next morning to find that, not only did the headset NOT charge, the charger actually *drained* the battery, leaving you with a completely dead headset. This happens so frequently, I have to remember to check the Plantronics Android app (which is almost as flaky as the charging system) every time I put the headset on the charger to make sure it says “charging.” Sometimes it saying “charging” and and sometimes it doesn’t, requiring you to jiggle the headset around some more until it actually starts to charge

  THE GOOD: - It’s easy to pair and the behind-the-ear style is lightweight and very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. - The noise cancellation is really impressive. If you’re walking outside and a Mack truck passes you, the person you’re speaking to will barely hear it. Wind noise is likewise cancelled very effectively

 However, since most people will want to use it on the same side all the time, that shouldn’t be a practical problem. - The battery life is decent, but nothing to get excited about. If you’re lucky, you’ll get about six hours of talk time.  THE BAD & THE FRUSTRATING: - This is an *expensive* headset! But if you use it all the time, you figure it’s worth the investment, right? Well, for me it has been a mixed blessing

  BOTTOM LINE: When it works as it should, the 5200 is the best-sounding and most comfortable Bluetooth headset I’ve ever had. When it doesn’t, it makes you weep over the money you spent and all the aggravation making sure it’s actually charging.

The wireless technology is Bluetooth 5.0 The headset comes included with a Usb dongle called the Bt600 that connects to your computer so your headset pairs to the dongle and that's bluetooth to that dongle

I was switching between my earbuds and a dedicated BT headset (Plantronics Voyager 5200). As I've used them for calls, I've not had a single person complain or say I wasn't clear. I tested them vs the headset with a coworker on a call and they said both were good quality. You can also test the "Just My Voice" background separation in the app by listening to yourself with a delay

 I find i have to positon my fingers over the headset and use my palm to reduce noise texture that i ended up cutting a paper straw to “cover” the mic to mildly reduce environmental noise and slightly boost my voice.  The battery, when on and in average talking use, lasts about 6 hours. I typically charge it during my lunch to guarantee it will last the rest of the day. Charging doesn't take too long usually about an hour or two max, even charging for 10-15 minutes could give you an hour or so of time if needed

  Summary: The primary problem is that my clients have a hard time hearing me often, yet they are also able to hear my co-workers having an average conversation about 25ft away and have confirmed this listening to the audio recordings with them. I got this device to use for work and the Bluetooth connection would be great for my laptop. I turned it on, paired with my laptop, all was great. For almost a month. Coming up on a month I now hear incessant beeping (2 beeps every 30 seconds or so) in my ear and can’t find an answer in any of the troubleshooting guides on the plantronics website

- Both earbuds work independently (I can use either one by itself)
- USB-C charging
- At least an above average battery life
- Microphone decent enough for video calls
- Water resistant enough for gym sessions and light rain

- ANC is nice but not necessarily important for me
- Wireless charging isn't important
- Stellar audio quality not important, as long as it's decent enough

Budget: Not picky with the brand, as long as it works. Would prefer of course to be as affordable as possible, but I'm okay with spending as long as the product is worth it.
