 The cable has to be installed in a specific direction otherwise the camera will not be detected. For the camera to function the silver contacts must face the HDMI port on the Raspberry Pi 3 B+. For this case you have to slide the camera ribbon through the multiple layers of the case and then attach the camera ribbon itself to the board. Again you will want to make sure that the silver contacts are pointing towards the HDMI port

 I still got to learn how to use them but do keep that in mind as light sensitivity could be a major factor depending on the project you're looking to do. There are camera modules out there that have built in night vision. I haven't tested any of those yet but they are out there that's what you're looking for. Okay so to change out the cable you're going to pull the tabs off the bottom of the module up and away very similar to how you do on the Raspberry Pi itself and then you pull the cable out

Good potential - mediocre execution at this point (June 2016)

 I'm not seeing any focus issues on my unit like another reviewer has, but I'm sure I'll end up tinkering with it anyway. The only thing I had to do was update the firmware on the Pi by running "rpi-update". I had to do this because the image out of the box was mirrored, which took some googling to see that lots of people have the same issue. If you intend on using motioneyeOS (not the normal motioneye inside Raspbian) that the image will be mirrored since you can't update the firmware in that OS and they haven't updated their code at the time of this writing

 But you already knew that if you own a Pi and are interested in this stuff, didn't you...

Worked for one test, no longer work after remove film from lens

 Otherwise, this camera works as one would expect, and now that it is in focus, it works well!

 I printed a focus tool, and was able to turn the lens until it was able to clearly show text from an object in the middle of my build plate. It did not have glue, so there was nothing to remove prior to adjusting. Otherwise, this camera works as one would expect, and now that it is in focus, it works well!
