It looked a lot thicker, but this is actually really thin probably the same Height as my actual cloth mouse pad right now. So let's plug it in and we'll get it fired up So the second I plugged it in it automatically booted up the driver for it to download in the razor synapse software and The first effect is going to be breathing you can pick from any two colors or a random color To make it breathe those colors kind of like pulse in and out of the colors you pick The next one is reactive and this one's really cool because if you have a supported razor mouse whenever you click on the mouse It's the mouse pad itself will like flash and pulse to the clicks on the mouse. That's pretty cool I should pick one up now is the spectrum cycling effect And this is just going to cycle through all the colors at once so it'll go from like yellow to orange To red, you know then from like green to teal to blue So it's kind of like cycles through the colors with really nice smooth gradient effects Next up is static and that's obviously you just pick, you know one static color for it to shine So if you like green you can make it shine green all the time Or if you like red it will just shine red the entire time So you're picking that one static color for it to glow and then lastly is wave and wave is going to be everyone's favorite the most Appealing and that's that rainbow effect where it cycles through the entire rainbow of the spectrum of the colors and just looks really really cool Shines really nice bright and vibrant really really cool colors And again, you can go through like the rest of their software change the profiles and link it to different programs It's a really really easy to use software

mite be time for a new mouse pad, who's tried the new razer mouse pad? is it as good as I'm hearing?

Not completely smooth

 The surface of the pad is a nice feeling micro textured surface. Now Razer says that it's meant to kind of split the difference between speed and control, although I found it to be a lot slipperier than my original Firefly, so it did take a little bit of getting used to for me. My old one is a bit broken in though, so that may have played a little bit of a factor as well, but comparing the non-worn edges of my original Firefly to the new one, it definitely does have a little bit faster feel. One of the nice inclusions though with this new version of the Firefly is where they have the USB cable connecting into the mouse pad, and also an integrated cable catch like we saw with the Goliathus RGB
