 Even turning the alarm on/off is a tiny hidden switch on the back. Maybe this kind of puzzle is good so you don't accidentally turn it off in your sleep, but I preferred it in an easier slider switch on the top on my old one. And being able to check the alarm time with a simple button hold on my old one was great as well. I suppose for just the once in a while backup alarm and seeing the time from across the room point of view this is fine, but I kind of want a little more ease of use

That's a deal killer for me because I almost always get up earlier than my wife, and no matter how fast I respond and hit the sleep button before sliding the alarm off switch (remember it's on the back; the fastest way to shut it up is to hit the sleep button, THEN reach around back to turn it off) it's so incredibly loud that it wakes her up, and that's not OK with me

 Controls are "ok." The alarm on/off switch is in the back, which is a little less convenient. Big sleep bar on top, the usual 9 minute sleep delay that most clocks have. There's no way to easily see what time your alarm is set to (my old clock allowed you to simply push the alarm button and the alarm time would flash on the display while you held the button down)

Great clock, especially for what it cost

I originally purchased this just to have a big clock visible from the bed, without fumbling with my phone- which has comically small font on the lock screen. I have the version with red numerals, which is easy on the eyes in the middle of the night. It was inexpensive, and proved to be exactly what I was looking for in that regard.  All was well until my phone alarm started acting up
