 Ever since then, I've had issues, unfortunately. While the grill would work, it would take a long time to get to temperature. If I wanted to cook something around 350 to 400 degrees, it would take me literally 30 minutes to get that temperature. I’m in the market for a grill (currently have a griddle, which we will keep and use in tandem with a grill). 

I am mostly a griller (steaks, chicken, etc for high heat reasonably fast cooks) with only smoking rarely to infrequently. 

What attracts me: imparting some smoke flavor (wife doesn’t like smoke at all, thus, a compromise), easier setup and cleanup than charcoal. 

What I primarily plan to do is reverse sear using the pellet grill + sear zone or griddle. 

Seeing as how I mostly plan to just grill, is this just a lot of wasted time and effort. Am I just better served going for charcoal or propane?

Is it totally stupid for me to buy a pellet grill?

The freedom of air flow of the grill chamber needs work if I could make design recommendations to the manufacturer. The chamber has too much oxygen coming in, causing grease fire flare up.

Trying to decide which route to go.  They each have some good features.  So my questions for those that own any of these grills.

Does the center firepit on the Recteq 700 actually benefit this grill by evenly distributing the heat? or is it hotter in the center?    Comments on the other two whether hotter over the fire pits?

Room inside seems tighter on the Recteq vs the other two,  Anyone feel that the interior height is not adequate?

The other thing I like about the LG Legacy is the ability to have a direct flame option.   So comments for those with this option on whether they like it?   My thought is it might contribute to a hot spot and wonder what kind of mess it might create for the firepit?

Maybe I am overthinking it as they all seem like great grills.   I have a gas grill and a bradley electric smoker but it would be nice to do all in one, smoke a butt one day, grill steaks the next and so on.

Recteq 700 vs. Timberline 1300 vs Louisiana Grill Founders Legacy 1200

I believe it will be a great grill as long as the electrical components last. Buy the cover if it’s exposed to the weather. I did see some condensation on the grill with the cover on. It was a very hard rain though

Hello! I am looking to upgrade my grilling space and would like to invest in a pellet grill. My budget is $500, but I am willing to be flexible at up to $600 if the model has everything I want, but I do have to cap it there. 

So far, I have looked at the Pitboss Austin XL and the Pitboss Pro Series 1150. I also have noticed the Oklahoma Joe's 900 which looks intriguing. My ideals specs are I am looking for a large pellet grill with a decent hopper capacity. Something that won't require tons of babying and is ideal for overnight/long cooks, I'm looking for durability, ideally some sort of Wifi connectivity if possible, digital controls, and a sear option. It is really important for me to have a pellet grill with a good flame/sear broil because my gas grill does not work and we don't use the charcoal much. I'd like something that can do all in one- that I can smoke something than finish at a higher heat with a glaze, or grill a good steak on a Summer day. 

If any of you have experience with using one of the above let me know, and of course of more options. Obviously good smoke output/flavor/rings are important to me too.

Good for the price

As the title says, I’m in the market for a pellet grill with a budget of around $1k. I’ve been researching a lot of the differences between different brands and models, and would love to hear some different perspectives on what y’all like, what you’d recommend, and why.

Some of the best pulled pork I’ve had (other than from top tier bbq locations themselves) have been from a family member’s Traeger. Same with burgers. The outcomes have been exceptional, and I’ve wanted a smoker/grill for some time.

Some thoughts:
• Be able to smoke / grill primarily for 3, but also considering more hosting down the line of 6+. Pulled pork or brisket, for example, can feed a lot. Seems like I can’t go wrong here with sizes.
• I’m often floating around and have errands to run throughout the day, so the WiFi / Bluetooth tech seems cool, but does it actually work well?
• We camp a lot with our 25ft travel trailer, it’s not a necessity but would be cool to be able to bring it along (optional)
