I'm looking to pick up something in the price range of $100-$130 to add to my rotation (Hoka Rincon's and Saucony Freedom 3's). My Freedom 3's have 3ish weeks left. I'll end up doing 300-350 miles over the next few months in whichever new pair I get, which is why I don't want to buy my race day shoes yet. I noticed that the Freedom 4's are on sale at a sporting good's store near me for $119, as well as a pair of Infinity Run's for $159. Any insight on which would be better for daily wear and tear? I'm truly open to any suggestions. I primarily use the Rincon's for my long-runs.

Suggestions on lower priced daily's for high-milage training program?

I’m looking for advice on new daily trainers - I know very little about shoes. Need them for easy/steady/long run days (max 15 miles). I’m a student so funds are somewhat limited…

I run about 40mi/week at around 8:00/mile. My last couple of shoes I used for this purpose (and loved) were Kinvara 11s and Novablasts, but I’ve used both to the point my legs aren’t recovering too well. I read earlier that Saucony Ride 13 or a Hoka Clifton 6/7 might be a good idea? Any recommendations?

Daily trainer - limited budget

I’ve been using the Floatride Energy 3 during marathon training and have logged around 75km in it, mostly easy running during high-mileage weeks. It’s a comfortable shoe that’s great for base training runs, with the Floatride foam in the midsole providing a protective but not excessively soft ride. It’s firm and responsive enough if you do want to up the pace, while still protecting your legs on long, slow runs.It wouldn’t be my first choice for faster runs and I would use it in tandem with a lighter, livelier shoe for speed and tempo work, as well as races

The outsole of the shoe is another strong point. It has shallow, pill-shaped lugs on the front half of the shoe, and I found these gripped reliably on light forest trails and canal towpaths as well as on the road.A shortage of samples meant that the Floatride Energy 3 I tested was half a size down on what I normally wear, but this turned out to be a stroke of luck because it fitted perfectly. The shoe has a roomy toe box, so going half a size down may be advisable

 The Velocity is a cushioned, comfortable shoe that I found still has enough pop in the midsole for faster runs. It’s one of my favourite new shoes of 2021, so the fact it’s a relative bargain is the icing on the cake.I prefer the Velocity Nitro and would pay the extra £25 for it if both it and the Floatride Energy 3 were only available at RRP. However, your mind may well be made up by the best deal available when you’re ready to buy

Replacing worn out Reebok Forever Floatride Energy 2

 That’s not a good or bad thing, just how it feels. I do think it fits better than previous versions.

My personal opinion is the best running shoe uppers disappear off your feet, and you don’t notice them. The tongue and laces are normal and disappear off your feet. Nothing is cutting into your feet, and the upper is more like a bootie construction; I’ve usually had this experience with Reebok. The heel counter does come up slightly higher than many running shoe brands but not enough to be annoying

 (I don’t think I would use it for 400-meter repeats at the track because I prefer something lightweight and “faster”).

 The energy foam is lightweight yet soft. I felt like my body was not too beat up, and I enjoyed the extra softness Reebok added into the Floatride Energy 3. I was surprised!

Seems that a lot of the post here are always singing praise for 'X' shoe, but 'X' shoe is always the same freaking shoes. While these shoes are obviously great for a reason, more posts have started popping up where users really aren't enjoying that shoe or are new to running, which I'd assume with just getting into running and not having the best form, etc. can lead to issues with some of the highly praised shoes.  

So what are some \*shoes that never get the praise they deserve? Not just for newbies to running, but just shoes that are freaking fun to run in?

Underrated shoes

0 looks much better than its predecessor. The improved engineered mesh upper gives it a speedier and more stylish look, a shoe that will inspire you to lace up and run more. The tradition 9mm heel-toe offset make this shoe feel a bit chunkier in the heel than some shoes, but that just allows it to better accommodate for heel-striking gait patterns. That also makes it more conducive to slow and moderate paces, but the springy properties of the midsole foam also allow it to run faster

  There’s a reliable locked-down feeling from the lacing system. Also, it has a partially gusseted tongue, which allows for an engaged, connective feeling out on a run. The firm heel counter and heel counter padding helped round out the fit and feel, providing a touch of comfort and confidence in every stride.  The midsole foam feels compliant and resilient even if slightly on the firmer side and not at all bouncy

The medium-volume interior feels sparsely cushioned and modestly comfortable inside, but it’s not notably plush or luxurious like some other shoes

Moderate Runs: Novablast, Rincon 2, Rebel v2 , Hyperion Tempo.

Long Runs: Endorphin Shift, React Miler, Triumph, Vomero 16, Invincible.

Speed Runs: Endorphin Speed, Tempo Next%,  Rebel v2, Hyperion Tempo. 

Recovery Runs: Invincible, Triumph. 

I’m a tall 250 pounder who runs 5 times a week totaling almost 25 hours a month.

Over 200lbs/90kilos runners, what shoes are you running in? (Yay! New Big Runner Flair added by mods😁)

 The previous design of this shoe had a stiff upper that didn’t quite hit the mark. It wasn’t very breathable, and unless you had a very specific foot, the upper often felt a little clumsy. Reebok completely redesigned the built of the upper to provide a more contoured fit. It has an improved lacing system to help craft that perfect locked-down fit, and a semi-gusseted togue with plenty of padding for a smoother overall ride

 Offering plenty of room in the toe box is great, but if it fits too long you will have a bit of a problem tinkering with the laces to find that perfect locked-down fit. If you can, I recommend heading to your local shoe store to give them a test run before you buy them. The enhanced lacing system allows runners to tinker with the overall fit of this shoe, and the improved upper contours to the shape of your foot. What I also love about the overall fit of this shoe is that it also has a stiff heel counter and ample padding the increased lockdown while surrounding your feet in 360 degrees of plush padding

 Reebok completely redesigned the built of the upper to provide a more contoured fit. It has an improved lacing system to help craft that perfect locked-down fit, and a semi-gusseted togue with plenty of padding for a smoother overall ride. Reebok also swapped out the rounded laces that never wanted to stay tied with flatlock laces that stay put once laced. Sure, it’s a small change, but it makes a big difference

 Veteran runners appreciate the durable rubber outsole and simple design that adapt to their unique gait cycle.  What I also love about the design of this shoe is that it is simple and supportive enough to tackle weather you can throw at it. While it’s great on the sidewalks, trails, and even slick grass, it’s also a fantastic gym shoe.  Whether you want to take a few laps on the treadmill or switch over to the weight room, the adaptive style of this shoe easily transitions to any type of workout
