 So the pros, I think it sounds very good for the price. Like this is the entry level for Riga Phono preamps. So they start here at like $200 and I think they go up to like over $1,000 for their Phono preamp. But this one here, I think, you know, it definitely upped the timing and the dynamics of the records I was playing

 Now when I first got my Riga P1 turntable, I was using the phono preamp stage that was built into my old NAD integrated amplifier in it. For me, just getting started into it, it sounded pretty good for it because I was getting the proper detail and the proper volume with very good musicality that comes with the phono preamp that's already built into the NAD. And then when I purchased, I got rid of the NAD, then I purchased my OTA VX, it also had a phono preamp built into it as well. And I was using that for about the first three months or so and that was also a very good preamp

 And it gave better detail for sure into the music I was playing. I could hear more out of it than the built-in Phono preamp on my Outo VX and also the Fuzzy Audio Tube preamp. And the USB connection, I like on it. So there's an extra function on there in case you guys are into that

 This is a moving magnet only phono stage or phono preamp from Riga and you can purchase it through many dealerships around the globe. It retails in Canada for about $220, in the US for about $175, and the UK around 99 euros. I would go with the rega. Even the entry level tt is great and simplistic. It’s always better to get separate components, so it would sound better getting a phono on its own (like a rega mini fono.) Systems that offer all in one, usually cut corners on certain parts

I assume that there's no shortage of comparisons between different turntables, and I'm just adding to the pile, but I wasn't able to find any good comparison between these 2 models that I've grown to be interested in.

I've never had a turntable before, but I went out of the way to get a couple of LPs and now I need to find something nice to play them with :).

I own a Sonos setup (I don't know if this is a huge no-no, but it's what I have nowadays and I'm very happy with it). It includes a Sonos Five, which has *line-in*. That means that I'm looking for a turntable that ideally has a phono preamp built-in, to simplify the setup. And that I'm not looking for something very high-end either.

After a lot of reading reviews, I settled on buying a **Rega Planar 1 Plus.** That I can get for about **550 USD / 470 EUR.**

First of all, I am a complete beginner. I've experimented a bit with my father's old turntable but that was a long time ago. 

So, my passion with music in general is well known to my close inner circle. Long story short, my girlfriend surprised me with a turntable as an anniversary present! That happened a while ago, I was very happy but I still haven't managed to find the time to make it work.   
She invested a fair amount of time searching and since there was limited stock because of the corona virus situation, she bought me the Pro-ject T1 turntable (the one with the manual speed change).

I am really excited about this present and I have some old vinyl records that I eager to listen to. Though I'd greatly appreciate your help as to what I could buy to make this whole setup work.   


Since I'm in a tight budget right now, I'd be comfortable spending around 200 Euro. Though, I'd like to hear any other suggestion even if it exceeds my budget, if you think that it's a better long term solution that will make this whole setup better.

Need help with my new Gem!

Does only two things, but perfectly.

-	Nagaoka MP-110, Rega Fono Mini a2d, to my amp/speakers. The Rega Fono Mini a2d makes a noticeable improvement with just the stock VM95E over both the built in phono stage or using the phono stage of the Pioneer amp, but the bigger improvement was with the Nagaoka MP-110, even still using the built in phono stage.

For those that have this turntable and use an external preamp, which preamp do you use?

External preamp for the Audio Technica At LP120XUSB

 The quality of the analog to digital transfer was very good - on par or better than my CD burner had been. I will attribute this to Rega who has been in the turntable and cartridge business for quite a while. The box itself is a solid piece of utilitarian metal (absolutely nothing to look at - but who cares?) The plus is that it is also a really decent phono pre-amp too. Although I have another phono pre-amp, this one could serve quite well as my main phono-preamp

 It has quite a bit of gain, and music sounded sharp leaning a tad to the bright side. So if you are looking for phono-preamp to do double duty as a way to download and convert your favorite vinyl tracks - this is well made affordable option.
