What do you compromise by going with the REI Co-op 650 2.0 Down Vest? It uses lower quality 650-fill-power down compared to the Down Sweater’s 800-fill-power, which means less warmth for the weight, but this isn’t hugely important unless you’re counting ounces or heading into the backcountry. In addition, it has square-shaped baffles and a boxier, roomier fit than the Patagonia, which results in a slightly less polished look. The good news is that the REI holds its own in terms of sustainability, with RDS-certified down (for humane treatment of birds) and recycled, bluesign (read: ethically sourced) materials.  I would compare it a little bit to the rain jacket that I reviewed and I'll put that review. I'Ll link to it right here it that was the Marmot precip rain jacket, where the fits just a little bit box here, you're, not gon na win anything awards for style or anything with this jacket, but it certainly gets the job done technically, there's not a ton Of room for my neck, not a ton of room around the neck, once the down fills up. Of course, when I started to pack that in I'm packing that down squishing that down, so you have to give it a little bit of time to back up. But when it does, it mostly fills all the gaps

REI 650 Fill Down Jacket 2.0 Tested and Reviewed

 Here we have this really cool, like mountain map pattern sort of thing. This only is on the rustic gold colorway, which we have we've been getting a lot of. Compliments on this really liked it. The interior here with this cool stylized inside only comes on the rustic gold

 It'S a nice down jacket and it is filled with actual down, not synthetic down so which is you know, great for warmth, to weight ratio and compressibility and the external layer is recycled nylon. So that's always a plus, and so let's just get into it. So on all the zippers here are YKK. We got this one going all the way down here and then we have two pockets here, all YKK

 So you see it's the pocket that has the zipper on both sides here. If you look this one only has just the one side, so that's how you can tell, and you just roll it inside of itself, and you got that cool mountain pattern showing which again, we've really been diggin. Now. One thing to note: it is the size of the pocket and just you got to make sure you don't catch your jacket in your zipper there
