 Well today I figured I would make a review over a bicycle I recently purchased and had a few days of riding to give my thoughts on. This is my first bike review so don't expect professional details down to an atomic level. So this is the Retrospec 58cm 7-speed Beaumont City bike in a sweet matte black paint job with some tan accents. I only really bought this bike because I loved how it looked

 The front wheel, front brakes, handles, seat, pedals, and front fender needed to be installed. For the most part it was fairly simple but I can guarantee the front brakes were meant to be put together by certified NASA employees. The way I installed them I get stopping power but I have to pull back a lot more than I do for the rear brakes. The tires needed to add up a bit but that was expected and the seat took some getting used to

 I was an avid road cyclists for many years and I am paying the price. Needless to say I am a bike nerd. Fell in love with the looks of the bike and I happy with my purchase. After shipping all bikes will need adjustment keep this in mind

 I am happy with the components for this level of bike. I didn't want top end components due to the fact this is not a bike I will be putting 50 plus miles on a ride everyday. I do ride everyday 10-15 miles on my Beaumont and I am loving it.

 You notice the quality difference in the paint? It's almost like this one was taken off of a bike so that it could be sent to me. But let me show you the real problem. This side is fine, nice and straight. You see all those scuffs there? Let's see if I can get this

 It's been crunched, there you can see the line right there, I don't know, what is it about? Oh, okay, wait a minute, here we go, look at that right there, that side, fine. This side, if I can turn it around, not so fine, look at that, look at that break, that crease where the paint has popped off, look at that. Is this poor manufacturing or poor quality control? You tell me. Anyway, I am quite sad to say, although this is an absolutely beautiful bike, that I cannot at all in good conscience recommend this bike to anybody

 But the part that really upset me, I can deal with that, that's, I don't know. The one on the left is the new one, the one on the right is the original one.  Mine had to have the fork replaced and it also had to have the caliper replaced and it also had to have the brakes replaced, all without ever riding this bike once. It came damaged from the factory. The company has given us a $100 refund, it cost us $160 to have the bike repaired. They also sent me a free helmet, which has not yet arrived

 Is this poor manufacturing or poor quality control? You tell me. Anyway, I am quite sad to say, although this is an absolutely beautiful bike, that I cannot at all in good conscience recommend this bike to anybody. There are just too many problems. Perhaps if it is sold at an e-bike shop and you go into an e-bike shop and you test ride it and they can say that everything on it is in good working condition, maybe

The saga of my Christmas present - received December 7, 2021. Not fit for purpose upon arrival.

The fork had to be replaced,  as well as the front caliper and brake. The front fender, which was received crushed and was ordered 12/8/2021, only just arrived 1/16/2022... still in poor (used?) condition, but likely will be serviceable. 

Retrospec bikes not recommended. Poor (respectful but very slow to respond) customer service. Yes, they will send you parts but you have to wait weeks to receive them, then pay a bike shop (or void the warranty) to install the part.
