If you're looking for a high-end robot vacuum that can also handle dried-on stains, the Roborock S7 is worth a look. This robot vacuum has a much harder time dealing with pet hair on carpeted surfaces than the iRobot Roomba S9. However, it does have a dedicated ultrasonic mopping capability that results in impressive stain-cleaning performance. Its surface detection system also enables it to raise its mopping pad if it's on carpet. It also features a LIDAR mapping system as opposed to the iRobot's optical sensor, allowing it to navigate in complete darkness. You can also use its companion app to direct it to clean a specific area or room, schedule cleaning sessions in advance, or set up no-go zones the vacuum won't enter. Performance on bare floors is superb, and the vacuum does a decent job of clearing away solid debris on carpets. Unfortunately, while it does have a HEPA filter, some fine particles can still escape from its exhaust.

Get the iRobot if you want a vacuum that does a better job of collecting pet hair and has superior air filtration performance, but consider the Roborock if a built-in mopping feature and more advanced mapping system are bigger draws for you.

Unfortunately, like many other robot vacuum brands, their products have demanding maintenance needs, and many parts need replacing over time.

 Roborock recommends cleaning this every two weeks, so that's something I'll look to do more often. The sensors need to be wiped clean after approximately 30 hours use or monthly, and the app will prompt you to do that. So far, I've had to do that twice. The dustbin filter needs to be cleaned every two weeks as well

 The mopping function is pretty good for what it does. It'll take away fresh stains off my tiles and even some dried on stains. It doesn't replace a traditional manual mop, but I don't think it's designed to do so either. The app is really intuitive to use and has plenty of functionality for power users, and the robot itself has been very low maintenance for me

 So with all that said, what do I think about the Robo Rock S7? Well, it's fantastic As an everyday vacuum, the ability to set a schedule and have the robot automatically clean your floors is incredible. Our floors here have never looked so consistently clean. It won't completely replace a conventional vacuum as it can't get to tight areas of your home and it can't get over higher bumps. but I think those downsides are inherent to any robot vacuum you might use

We’ve had the Roborock S7 for 7 weeks on our main floor which is all hardwood and a few area rugs. I’m currently trial running several auto-empty vacs for our upstairs which has our 4 bedrooms and all carpet. Currently a few weeks into the Roomba S9+ with empty bin and let me just say… while it does a good job picking up on our low rise carpet, the app and technology feels about 5 years behind the Roborock tech and app. If anyone cares about specifics feel free to ask but I’m constantly surprised how poor the app and tech work

 Waiting for this thing to break down which probably won’t be a long time from now so I can purchase a upgraded eufy. Roborock suction isint that great either. I recently ordered a replacement battery for my eufy because the Roborock wasn’t doing a good job and put them to work at the same time for the same amount of time and looked at which one collected more dirt and take a wild guess which one did it better. Yep the less then $200 4 year old eufy

 I purchased the Roborock after my eufy battery started acting up but it’s been 4 years so I get it.  Also, you would no longer need the pads that would attach to the charging dock for after mopping jobs because it rises up. It really is a game changer in the mopping tests. I did. I used dried on coffee, grape juice and v8 juice and found that it was one of the better runs

 But in this case it did so well in the low power test that i didn't even need to run the high power test. All that to say that in general i think the roborock s7 is probably the best roborock at pure debris pickup as well, and that's really saying something since i already really liked robo-rocks in terms of their pickup like most premium robo-rocks. The s7 is a lidar-based smart navigation, robot vacuum, which means it uses a top-mounted, spinning, invisible laser to map out your home and it cleans in more or less straight lines. It mapped both the studio and my house on the first attempt and it didn't get stuck or have any major issues

 Its coverage on both the small and large room tests were nearly perfect with good detail around the chair, legs, etc. Also the robot has a total of four maps. It can remember like for different floors in your house, which is again better than average. The new mop system is pretty interesting

 I got lower than average numbers on the s7 in both the suction and air flow tests. In fact, it was the lowest scores i had seen on a robo-rock period, so i was surprised when in the carpet deep clean test, where i embed sand into medium pile carpet and weigh the bins after a five minute run, it did better than any robo-rock. I had seen and then again in the crevice pickup test. It was much better than any other robo-rock

I want to buy my first robot vacuum cleaner, and after a small research I found that Roborock S5 Max was great shot offer/price. But after that I heard about S7, new one and I’m considering grab that one. 

My friends are recommending me Roomba i7+ but I don’t see any reliable comparison or benchmarks of that two together. What do you think, which one I should buy and why? Can you help me here? 

I’m looking for good black color vacuum robot from Christmas and my patience is over at the end. 😅

i7+ vs Roborock S7?

 But When the mop-cloth is MANUALLY soaked, it will perform as long as it remains saturated with water...  Carpet Auto-Detect: Auto rise works, but not relevant for medium lengths pile or loose rugs/carpets

 This is not true. If you want your Roborock S7 to perform multiple passes in some or all rooms, YOU will have to do so manually in the app. This is not something that can be done via the Schedule-Menu as of 2022-03-22.  Bin design is SMALL: if you have the auto-empty base it will not matter, but if you buy this as a stand-alone unit you will notice the need to empty it

 I have various models from other brands including iRobot and this robot is the most effective on time and coverage.  The rubber Roll: The implementation of a new rubber roller with a modular cage. Roborock was doing a great job minimizing hair or fur tangles, but now it really feels like one of the best. The new modular design maximizes a seal on hardwood floor, which gets more dirt with less power and passes

 Also, the design is not ideal - it could have been easier, not a huge issue but still an issue when the vacuum runs multiple times a day.  Still, with all these cons, this is still one of the best in the premium robovac category.  I sincerely hope Roborock works on the scheduling updates and that in the future Roborock models they work on the water tanks and even water distribution. Until then I'll have to wet the mop-cloth right before each mopping job

For example, I specifically didn't vacuum my house for two weeks while on vacation in anticipation of this review

Roborock S7 Auto Empty Dock REVIEW - RockDock!

I tried the roborock s7 and between it not being able to back of its own dock, being obsessed with ramming into its own dock, getting stuck anytime it hit anything, not picking my anything off the carpet, it had air vents on the side (which I wasn’t used to coming from roomba) that sounds like a jet engine no matter what the speed setting was. I was already annoyed and the sound of a mini jet engine going through the house sent me over the edge in frustration! Am I to expect the same thing from the Deebot t8?

 As is often the case with humans on the internet, most people who claimed it could handle black rugs did so with no agency on the matter. I should have assumed this when many wrote "Yes, it cleans all rugs" seemingly missing an understanding of the nature of the question on the technical implementation of the feature set. As with almost all robot vacs, the IR sensors that detect a drop-off, like stairs or a terrace, are fooled by a black rug thinking it is about to fall off a cliff.  My suggestion if Roborock is reading this

 It does a good job of picking up the pad when over rugs so as not to make them dirtier. If you are home, I recommend wetting the mop before you being as it does a better job this way.  Overall, this is the best robot vac I've ever had and highly recommend it.
