On a good amp, the individual notes of a chord should be clearly heard. The Cube simply does not allow that kind of detail to show through. Compensating adjustments to tone controls always resulted in a different aspect of the sound quality to suffer

 Just high-quality, accurate tonality. The preamp offers very good control over tone/volume paramaters, with no undue dulling of the tone. The 8-inch speaker covers the frequency range of a guitar with no strain.  However

This would be forgivable in a $130 amp that didn't have a reputation as a giant killer. For me, it failed to inspire continued use

Not what it's cracked up to be.

 It's less than 10 pounds so it's easy to carry around and easy to fit in. You know it fit. it fit in small places when you're trying to find space to pack and that sort of thing. I Really wish something like this had been around when I was first learning to play guitar because my first practice amp was of course in the early 90s

 But for what it is, it actually it makes has a fairly impressive sound, and it has quite a few tones and presets as well. You can see the control panel on the top here, so you've got your traditional equalizer, your your a bass, and mid and treble settings, so those are all there. That's great. And then of course you've got a volume knob and a gain knob as well, but the amp actually has another switch over here

[QUESTION] What guitar to buy for a beginner?

 All these really don't sound that great to me.  My favorite amp is the Boss Kantana 50, just for comparison.

  So it kind of fails as a small size personal practice amp, if you are trying to emulate lots of different sounds. I ended up with the Mighty light Nu-x, which is cheaper, has a ridiculously small speaker, but is not bad.  I was looking for a small sized amp that sounded better, but I don't think I found one yet. I tried the small Vox, Fender, Marshall even Blackstar (Fly, Beam, ID Core)

I needed something lightweight and portable for my guitar music teaching, and initially gave it '5 star' positive review, but after testing the amp several times with different settings, there is noticeable hum/buzzing noise from speaker and reluctantly have returned the speaker, in it's favour is the low price but it is probably worth paying bit more for amp with quality speaker rather than gimmick modelling settings. As a Guitar music teacher, It seems that small budget guitar amps are being made full of modelling and app settings which from a teaching point of view can cause lot of confusion with students and detracts from the basic idea of learning scales and chords etc.  .

Good price but.........

 Standard tone, volume and gain controls. It can be powered by the Dc power adapter which does come supplied with the amp or you can whack in some batteries as seen there. but of course the proof really is in the pudding. So let's get this thing plugged into the desk and we'll have a look and see what we've got

 I think. um, as a whole, I think it's a really good little amp, which you could also use as a sort of amp head and uh, plot this on top of bigger speakers and I don't think you'd go far wrong with it. To be honest. it's a nice little sort of amp, which it's not just a practice amp

 and now we'll go a bit further up to a kind of darker sounding [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] and then as you go along these settings, you will get heavier sounding now. [Music] Now we're talking now. I think we've found my kind of tone [Music] [Music] Hey, okay so now we'll go through a couple of the little effects so there is a chorus here, then we have the flanger pretty standard there and then we have a heavy octave [Music] [Applause] [Music] I'm do yeah, that one's really good. Uh, and then we have different things like delay and different types of delay

 uh on here Now it does have the acoustic Uh simulator which basically does make it sound a bit like an acoustic guitar but very very quiet. Um, so we're gonna go straight into the clean Tones and see what we get. and now we'll go a bit further up to a kind of darker sounding [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] and then as you go along these settings, you will get heavier sounding now. [Music] Now we're talking now

Roland Cube 10gx  AMP REVIEW

I wasn’t impressed with the sound quality of this amp. The crunch and lead settings sound good but the clean channel is fuzzy and muffled, also, I wasn’t pleased that I couldn’t have the chorus and reverb effects on at the same time like my other Roland amp. This is a good practice amp, but I was a bit disappointed with it for performing.
