 So getting in and out of the binding It just gets a little bit easier when that bungee is tight because it pulls that ankle strap out of the way Your high back forward lean is again standard cam flip it down move that up and down to where you need it to and lock it back in place your angle adjustments on your high back Pretty standard again, you're gonna loosen these bolts rotate it However, feel like you need to and tighten it back down. It doesn't have kind of this drastic shaping to it or anything It's got a little bit of foam to it to kind of soften up the bite a little bit Really the big feature to talk about is that hinge that's back there Overall, it's a high back that I really like and it has a really really nice feel to it it's always as supportive as I need it to be and Offers that little bit of kind of damping and kind of softness to it with that hinge back there The overall flex on this is pretty dominated by the underwrap heel So you have an aluminum upper frame and heel cup that you know Starts from the heel runs all the way to the front of the binding and wraps underneath the front of the binding so having that raised sides on either end as you're kind of flexing laterally into the binding that provides a ton of support to the side and then Driving forward or back into this binding you get a lot of power into it because that aluminum drops from You know your heel cup straight down below your heel and then also wraps just underneath your toes as you push you back into that You're not just pulling up on the aluminum frame from the top of it or through a bolt But you're actually literally pulling up on that under nylon frame from underneath the frame so it has a lot of response to it and Just feels really solid and super supportive underfoot and that's really kind of just one of the biggest characteristics I noticed at Roam Bindings is they always just feel really really supportive It's the type of binding that you know throughout a super long day or a long trip and you're riding You know four or five days eight hours a day in a row This binding is going to provide the enough support to it to keep you riding and just stay comfortable that entire time And then you know full foam footbed that has a little bit of a thicker feel to it So provides a nice smooth feel underfoot as well The big word here with the ride feel of this binding is support. What are the “go to“ bindings these days ?

 This is the opposite of that. You just have more power in there. The overall ride of this binding is smooth and predictable. It's a binding you put on

 When you really are steering the board, you notice that right away that there's just a little bit more power versus Roam's asym heel cup, which actually only has the outside of it. When you're pushing out, you got power, but when you're flexing on the inside, you kind of lose a little bit. This is the opposite of that. You just have more power in there

 They never stick. There's no problems with them releasing. They're not something that you're going to be fumbling around on, having issues to get in and out of when you're in the snow. All I can say is they work, and they work exceptionally well

 Flip the tab. Do your thing. You're good to go. The overall flex of this binding is middle of the road

The 2022 Rome DOD Snowboard Binding Review

I see a lot of questions about bindings but nothing really fits what I'm looking for so hopefully someone has experience that can help.

I am 203 cm tall (6'8") and wear a size 49 boot (15 US).  I have been riding the same board/bindings for a stupid long time (like I could have replaced them a decade ago!)  I just bought a new Neversummer Proto Synthesis 162DF and am looking at what bindings I should get.  I've been riding some super old flows and I love the easy entry, but I am sure there are better performing bindings.

I know there aren't many people with my size boots but by chance does anyone know have advice on what bindings would work well with this setup?  Most bindings just say the large fit size 43+ (10US+), but I know there's an upper limit.  The bindings I'm currently looking at:

* New flow bindings (my current bindings barely fit my boot so I assume newer ones will be similar)
* Burton cartels (seem highly rated, might just barely fit size 15?)
* Union something (look the same size as the Burton so I don't know if there's a reason to something here instead)
* K2 formula XL (seem like kinda meh bindings but they are the only bindings I can find that say they fit up to size 50 boot)

I'll also say that the sidebar says that gear questions should go into the daily gear thread but I don't see that thread and see a bunch of other gear questions so hopefully I'm not breaking rules :-)

Binding recommendations?

Rode these paired with the Capita Pathfinder and the Capita Ultrafear as well. I'm a smaller boot size and would technically be a small in Union but rode mediums and they kept my boot in great. Really great responsiveness, and when riding on a harder pack kind of day, took the chatter like a champ. Always well made and great quality with Union bindings

 These are some of the best bindings I've ridden in my 20+ years of snowboarding and definitely will consider these in my next setup!
