The Rome Freaker is an all mountain board, that plays as a directional twin with a stiffer flex.  Roam stripped back and simplified their product line last season but the Freaker feels a bit like the final piece being added to that puzzle. It's going to be the board of choice for René Renekangas this season and if ever there was a rider who epitomized charging hard fast and loose around the mountains he's your man. This thing is a freaking master class in all mountain versatility. Thanks for watching this review of the Roam Freaker snowboard

 Now this helps to drive the board on the front foot and give you some added stability, especially if you're blasting through slushy or cruddy conditions as well as increasing a bit of that volume up front to allow you to stay on top of any pockets of powder. The flex of the board is just a little more directional in its construction though. So you've got a combination of tri-axe and bi-axe fibreglass layers sandwiched between a poplar and a polonia wood core. So this strikes the sweet spot between a board that's easier to twist and bend but it stays responsive and stable at higher speeds and that's part of the reason that the Freaker has a flex rating of 7 out of 10

For an all mountain freestyle board, would i be better off with the 2022 twinpig or 2022 t rice pro

 I enjoyed just carving some pipe walls, getting some old man turns in there with these boards and the Freaker is no exception there. Just really fun. Good park board for going big, not really a jib board. And overall, like I said in the intro, this is a very specialized board that really excels at a few things

 To give you a short summary, the Freaker takes it up a notch from the Warden. It's just got a little faster base, a little better materials, but same shape, same general ride, just a touch stiffer flex. And the Stale Cruiser is here too because it's very similar to these boards. But it's basically a board that does a few things really well

 And check out those reviews because we were really stoked on their bindings this year. I got this in late spring conditions and premature spring elation came on unapologetically and never left. To give you a short summary, the Freaker takes it up a notch from the Warden. It's just got a little faster base, a little better materials, but same shape, same general ride, just a touch stiffer flex

 I think maybe the 55 would be worth a try for myself too. I might be a little too heavy for it, but I might have a little more control and might be able to dominate the board with my heavier weight. So that could work. When it comes to the shape, this is a directional twin

 You get that real deep slingshot effect and you can feel it in there. What's nice though is this board does let you ankle steer. You can feel that torsional flex in there. So when you're on edge, you can be a little more nuanced with how you drive those carves

 The overall flex of this board comes just past middle-of-the-road all-mountain freestyle, so it's a little bit stiffer, but still directional in nature, so you have a slightly softer nose, stiffens up out in front of that insert pack and it just progressively gets a little bit stiffer through to the tail. There's a moderate amount of torsional flex, but nothing really overwhelming with it. Now, what you will notice is you do get chatter way out in the nose but that Omega hot rod pretty much dissipates it before it would hit the front foot. Otherwise, this board will plow and cut through chop and chunder with ease and stay on top of everything, making it a little bit more stable

 Hello snowboarders of the internet, I'm your host Averin LeFevre and in this video, we're going to be reviewing the new Rome Freaker this board features Rome's fusion camber, which is a camber dominant cam rocker You got a tiny little bit of rocker out in the tip of the tail, but predominantly it's just traditional camber This is going to give you that load and pop of traditional camber but you're going to get a slight ease of entry in and out of turns as well as just a little bit easier area to press when you're buttering or jibbing. This board is available in 149, 152, 155, 158, 154 wide, 157 wide, 160 wide I rode this board at Copper Mountain on a sunny bluebird day with warmer temps There was perfect hero corduroy on the run There was heavy pow off the run as well as ice and chunder and I rode it with my Rome Black Label bindings and my K2 Thraxis boots. The overall flex of this board comes just past middle-of-the-road all-mountain freestyle, so it's a little bit stiffer, but still directional in nature, so you have a slightly softer nose, stiffens up out in front of that insert pack and it just progressively gets a little bit stiffer through to the tail.
