 Hey so the new Black Ops Escaper is updated for season 21-22 next year and it's perfect in terms of that free touring is getting bigger and bigger. We all know the hybrid ski boots with tech inserts and hike mode and now it seems that more and more people, free skiers, looking for one ski to do both freeride skiing and also touring skiing. So what could be better than free touring? Anyway, this new Escaper, it's from 92 to 95 in the waist. It's made with the air tip to keep it light

 Typically we have the Zander Ti, it's a hard charging ski for high speed but this ski is at around 1700 grams and it's playful, it's really fun and we have more and more shops asking for more playful skis and the audience are looking for a fun ski that brings skiing pleasure and the Black Ops Escaper is a perfect mix of playfulness and seriousness and keep in mind also the eco-conception that Black Ops was awarded for this season, that means sustainability in terms of recyclable, recycled raw materials in terms of bases, edges, top sheets and also certified wood and it's made in Europe so in Artes in Spain so it's a good buy for next year.  It's a Paulownia wood core and Diago fiber directionals and it's around 1700 grams without the binding and it's a, let's say, directional ski.  It's going to be a really solid ski. Air tip in the shovel keeps it super lightweight, makes it really easy to engage that ski into the turn, so you're not working real hard on this. It's a ski that the biggest, strongest skier can overpower, but that's not really who I'd aim or put on this ski. It's that solid intermediate up through advanced level skier that wants something that's going to keep their legs fresh for the entire day, not tire them out too much, but still be able to rip on

 I'd be totally comfortable putting an intermediate level skier on here, all the way up through a really solid advanced skier. At 94 underfoot, it's a super versatile width, so it's going to handle the hard pack real well, but with the more progressive shovel and the early taper and the tip here, it's still really well suited to get off trail, dabble in the trees, dabble in the bumps, the crud, even kind of boot deep powder. It's going to be a really solid ski. Air tip in the shovel keeps it super lightweight, makes it really easy to engage that ski into the turn, so you're not working real hard on this

The Rossignol BlackOps Escaper is a great option for any advanced all mountain guy who wants a fun, playful ski. Diago Fiber laid across the Paulownia Woodcore helps stiffen the ski, while the Paulownia keeps things light weight and playful. Damp Tech makes an appearance for core reinforcement and liveliness for an energetic ride when you lay that ski on edge. The Escaper is torsionally stiff thanks to the full sandwich sidewall for edge hold and stability when you find yourself on the groomers. Keeping those tips up when you're in powder is not an issue with the incorporated Air Tips which helps with natural flotation. The Rossignol BlackOps Escaper knows no bounds and is an awesome option for riding all over the mountain.

* Rossignol Black Ops Escaper 93 -- really enjoyed these, found them pretty close to the Blizzards but a little easier to turn in the natural moguls. After reading a bit about them after the fact and talking to a few of the guys at the shop, they seemed to think that generally for east coast skiing the Brahama's might have the edge and the Rossi Black Ops were just especially playful in the snow, but that's not normal.

 Sorry, I'm not sure which but in that category of kind of a light, playful all-mountain ski 94, so a little narrower than some of these other boards we've been riding. You know with Rossignol, I expect expect a really refined and well-balanced ski. That's exactly what you get here with the Escaper. Let's take a quick look at it

 Not like that. More playful, but still quite nice and snappy off its edges and just so clean and refined edge-to-edge. The ski likes it when you use hip angulation, it likes it when you use knee angulation. Not very stiff overall, so maybe heavier riders beware on this ski, but I'm going to say one of the big pluses of a ski like this is this is going to suit a huge range of skier types and ability levels

 Alright, we've got something new. It's Rossignol's Black Ops Escaper. This is 94 millimeters underfoot. I'm riding a 178 and I believe they said this replaces the Sky 7

 That's exactly what you get here with the Escaper. Let's take a quick look at it. There you go right there. And notice those tips, okay? Notice again, as with many of the other makers, we're moving away from the more spoonie progressive tips back toward more traditional geometry

Coloradan looking for a daily driver all mtn ski to add to my quiver. 

I spend \~50% of my time with little ones (under 4) on groomers, trees, mild bumps, and small park features. Ideally this unicorn skis switch, is fairly damp, and can hold up when I get the oppy to ski hard. Aka I don't want park skis (Blend), I don't want a directional (mantra/enforcer), I don't want wide planks, and I have a dedicated touring set-ups.

I've narrowed down to the Dynastar free 99 and the Bent 100 (thanks Blister). Anything else I should consider (e.g. Camox, Prodigy)? 

FWIW I know there are trade offs and have other skis when the opportunity presents itself. Current Quiver: Nomad 105(pow), MX98 (early season/low tide), BC Corvus Freebird (winter bc), BC  Ova Freebird (spring skimo).

CO - All Mtn Ski recommendation request

 It's just a slightly narrower, slightly lighter version of the Sender, which is the wider version of this ski. So, a little bit more all-mountain oriented, nice and versatile, carves a great turn. Still got the vertical sidewalls in there and some pretty positive camber underfoot and some pretty good snap coming out of the turn. So, really nice, kind of tight camber profile there

 So, fans of, you know, tree skiing, bump skiing, quick turns, really going to like this ski a lot. Still with a Polonia wood core, it's on the lighter side, but it's still pretty stiff. It's got Diago fiber in there for stiffening agent. Also has damp tech, which reduces vibrations in the tips and tails

 The Black Ops line has been expanded and kind of has encompassed the 7 line from years past. So, this, you know, would loosely be the new Sky 7 or SIN 7. And so, the Escaper here, this one is a 172 and this is 93 millimeters underfoot. So, it's a little bit narrower, but it still retains that same quick turning and lightweight nature of the skis that it replaced

 So, you're really just getting a nice, light, kind of easy to ski product here, but it does have that high-end capability and high-end sealing that a lot of skiers like. So, you're not dumbing it down by any stretch by having this. It's just a slightly narrower, slightly lighter version of the Sender, which is the wider version of this ski. So, a little bit more all-mountain oriented, nice and versatile, carves a great turn

I'm looking to purchase my first Ski. I'm 6'0, 160LBS, I have mainly ski'd hand-me-down ski's including an old 78 width atomic (not sure the model), and K2 pinnacle 88. I wanted to demo a ski that was more stable so over the weekend at Whistler. I ended up demoing a nordica enforcer 100 (179cm). Overall the ski was great, but I did find the ski quite demanding and heavy. I'm looking for something a bit lighter, but has similar properities.
