 So especially beefed up underneath the foot, which is obviously where a lot of your power and steering is coming from and then tapers off towards the tail of the ski either end. This comes in a 173, 180 and 187. The 180, being in the middle of the size, is the one most people are going to jump onto. Obviously, you can downsize if you're a sort of smaller, lighter, less aggressive skier, and then upsize if you're a bit taller, more aggressive, heavier skier

 We do a lot of ski testing here at Snow Tracks and we try and test as much as we can and a lot of the team always comment about how smooth this ski is and it almost feels effortless to get through some of those turns. It's definitely a great ski. 88 underfoot is a good sort of platform, I always think, between 85 and 90. It gives a good platform for doing a bit of everything

 So we often say, or always say on all of our videos, just make sure you give us a shout about sizing. It's the one thing that you want to get right. So give us a shout, drop us an email, and we can confirm. One, you're looking at the right ski that's going to suit your kind of level and what you're after, and also that you get the right size as well

 So yeah, if you're a sort of powerful, piece-oriented skier with a little aspirations to play around in the softer snow, then look out for the Experience 88. It's a good ski to have under your feet this season.

I'm a huge fan of this ski for most days. It's good up to about 20 cm and I like it on soft chop days or low snow days where I know I'll mostly be off-piste.

First season skiing and used Rossi experience 76s in 162cm. I was able to progress to doing blue runs with ease and some black runs but with difficulty. I ski mainly in Banff and am 5ft 8, 190lbs and athetletic and like skiing faster and more on groomed runs but still have to deal with lots of snow due to the climate.

Was thinking of moving onto longer all mountain skiis and was thinking something like mantra 5, nordica 94, or rustler 9. Not sure if these would be too advanced and what length I should go for. I do like being able to initiate turns easily. I'm open to other skis as well.

Need help with new skis. I think I've outgrown my current ones.

 It is 88 underfoot, so it's a nice mid-all-mountain ski that's going to take you from carving into the woods and pop around all around the mountain all day long, following the kids into the park. You're still going to have fun on this ski. When we look at the shape, it has a nice long camber edge effect, a little bit of rise in the tail, and a nice fat tip. You know, not too fat

As the title says, I am a former high level racer and am living on the East Coast. My whole life I've only ever skied on Race Skis (with the exception of renting when I did some backcountry in Europe) but now that my racing days are well behind me, I am looking for a more all-around ski that will perform well in an East Coast winter, as well as something I could bring on a West Coast trip and not feel like a dummy with race skis on a big mountain.

My biggest hesitation when it comes to choosing a new ski is that it won't be responsive enough or have enough "performance" compared to a race ski, however I want something that I can still carve groomers, play in the trees, and handle those icy/cruddy east coast days. 

Any advice or recommendations are appreciated, hoping I can get something for this season (Trips to Sugarloaf, Lake Louise and Tremblant planned for the winter).

Ski Recommendations for a former Racer??

 Very, very round turns, very clean. This is the 180, and we're looking at a 16-meter turn radius, so it's pretty short, and the big reason for that is this really nice positive camber underfoot. You just get a ton of snap and energy out of this ski. It almost bounces down the hill

 There's nothing wrong with it. It is just a perfect all-mountain frontside ski. This has the HD core with basalt built in, and the basalt really does a good job at keeping the ski damp and stable and smooth, so it's a good counterbalance to that HD core. Their tip helps with swing weight and just really helps you get into the turn easier

Rossi does a great job with that, and we're pretty psyched that it returns unchanged, because everyone who gets on this just loves it. I'd consider the Rossignol Experience 88s in the 166 cm length.  They make skiing on groomers feel easy, and can dip around moguls fine, especially at a 166.

Seems like most of the skis that fall into the 'best of' categories are not sized for shorter skiers like myself and also the logic around waist sizing may not apply so well either.  I'm 5'5 (165cm) 120 lbs.  Consider myself an intermediate skier and spend most of my time on blue runs and enjoy hitting bumps about half of the day and crusing groomed runs the rest here in Oregon/Mt Hood. Any recommendations either for a single quiver ski or maybe two options for more versatility?  Should I be looking for a softer ski vs stiff given my weight and desire to occasionally be in moguls? Less than 88cm waist? Appreciate any feedback.

 So that guy that is spending 80, 90% of their time on firm snow, but it gets chewed up, it gets variable, this is a perfect choice, but with the AirTip 2.0, it's still nimble and light enough that when you get into the trees, get into the crud and bumps, it's going to float. It's going to feel playful. You're going to be able to skid and smear it without a ton of effort

 But that tip shape is way different. You can see the influence from the Sky7 models. They're more freeride oriented models like the Soul7. So definitely they've taken a little bit of influence from that ski and given it to this new ski

 It's been a few years since a Syn 7 existed. But yeah, I think they did a really, really good job. Definitely way more versatile ski. High performance feel still, but they got away from kind of that extended side cut which I think was a smart decision
